What will you be doing?

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in architecting and developing ElectronX. This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and design large-scale, robust systems that form the backbone of our exchange platform. Key responsibilities include:

  • Architect and design scalable cloud infrastructure solutions for ElectronX's exchange platform

  • Develop and maintain core platform and systems, the main exchange, clearinghouse, APIs, connectivity solutions and tooling

  • Scale observability capabilities to ensure robust monitoring, logging and alerting

  • Design with a focus on reliability and performance, and an eagerness to automate everything

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components

  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members

  • Participate in oncall rotation

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

What we need from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud-based software development, with a focus on infrastructure and systems design

  • Strong experience building cloud platforms in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitHub Actions

  • Programming skills in languages such as Python, Golang, or Rust

  • In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, networking protocols, and database technologies

  • Knowledge of observability stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Thanos

  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and messaging systems (Kafka)

  • Skilled in enhancing and expanding observability and monitoring systems

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and apply problem-solving and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

  • Hybrid work schedule with 3+ days/week in office in Chicago (preferred) or NYC

  • You have experience with financial services or trading systems infrastructure

  • You're passionate about clean energy and its intersection with financial markets
