About Bespoke Labs

Bespoke Labs is an AI research and data company building the datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation infrastructure that power frontier AI models. We're backed by leading investors, trusted by top AI labs, and have research accepted at venues like ICLR 2026. Our team is small, moves fast, and has an outsized impact on how the next generation of AI is built.

The Role

We're hiring mid-level software engineers across all core coding disciplines. Whether you build backend APIs, data pipelines, ML tooling, or full-stack products — if you write clean code and care about impact, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Own meaningful technical work end-to-end — from design through deployment

  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines

  • Collaborate with researchers and ML engineers to ship high-impact features

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, not just implement them

  • Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code

  • Debug and resolve issues across complex distributed systems

  • Participate in code reviews and help raise the technical bar

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience

  • Strong foundations in your core domain — backend, data, ML tooling, or full-stack

  • Proficiency in Python and fluency in at least one additional language (TypeScript, Go, Rust, SQL, etc.)

  • Experience working in production environments with real users

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to operate autonomously

  • Strong communication skills and collaborative working style

  • Genuine interest in AI, LLMs, or data-driven systems

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience at an AI, ML, or data company

  • Familiarity with LLM training, fine-tuning, or RLHF pipelines

  • Experience with large-scale data pipelines or annotation platforms

  • Open-source contributions or published technical writing

  • Background working alongside AI research teams

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity

  • Direct impact on how frontier AI models are built

  • Flexible, remote-friendly environment with low bureaucracy

  • A small, high-caliber team with deep AI research expertise

  • Health, wellness, and learning & development benefits
