Software Engineer

This is an entry level software engineering role that will focus will be on 3-dimensional mathematical model manipulation, computational geometry algorithm development, testing, and maintenance. The goal is to achieve sub-meter accurate geographic data manipulation. Engineer will participate in quality processes, such as code reviews and data-driven large scale testing and analysis. Programming will be in C++, Python, and or Java/Scala. Engineer will work as part of an agile team, participating in daily standups and periodic meetings and rituals. Engineer is responsible to contribute to all phases and levels of automated testing. 

• Work will be in in C/C++, Python, and Java/Scala
• Development will be in Windows using Visual Studio for C++
• Deployment is in AWS using containers, EMR, Cloud Formation, and Lamdas
• Create and maintain automated tests at all levels
• Create and maintain software documtation for technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in daily standups and biweekly planning & retrospective 
• Receive and give feedback on software design and implementation

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

A 4-year college degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics or experience is required. No prefessional experience is expected.

• Working knowledge of at least one programming language
• Reasoning about software code including boundry condition identification, failure mode analysis, and test case identification
• Understanding fundamental data structures and their associated operations algorithm runtime analysis (average case and worst case)
• Have a strong foundation in 3D math, linear algebra, and interpolation
• ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change
• Communcate clearly verbally and in writing
• A clear passion for technology and math

The expected base salary range for this position is $73,500 to $105,000 per year. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as skills and experience. 

This position is also eligible for a target annual performance bonus, which is subject to company and individual performance.
