Job Summary

The Solutions Architect - Infrastructure will assist SHI's customers in implementing data center infrastructure initiatives as they move towards modern data center solutions. This role involves designing and deploying enterprise infrastructure and platforms, providing upgrade and migration services, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Additionally, the Solutions Architect – Infrastructure serves as a mentor to other consultants within the team
This position is a remote position with Home Office setup as determined by SHI management.

Role Description

  • Perform design and implementation work, including architecture analysis, system migrations, and systems engineering activities

  • Design and implement enterprise infrastructure solutions, including:

    • Converged and hyperconverged infrastructure

    • Storage platforms and SAN environments

    • Disaster recovery solutions

    • Server virtualization and day-to-day infrastructure operations

    • Backup and ransomware resiliency solutions

    • Virtual networking solutions

  • Serve as the technical lead on projects and workshops, overseeing delivery and being accountable for project outcomes

  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify, scope, and close professional services opportunities through customer discovery and design sessions

  • Deliver configuration, deployment, and upgrade services within customer and partner environments

  • Participate in pre-sales and post-sales engagements, including solution design, planning, and technical validation

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other architects and consultants

  • Stay current with infrastructure industry trends, technologies, and vendor offerings

  • Demonstrate long-term, strategic thinking related to infrastructure services and customer engagements

Skill Level Requirements

  • Ability to design, build, and implement infrastructure solutions from delivery through production readiness

  • Proven experience defining, designing, building, and maintaining enterprise systems and infrastructure solutions

Certifications

Industry certifications in one or more infrastructure technology platforms, such as:

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

  • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  • Or equivalent infrastructure-related certifications

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • 3–4 years of progressive technical experience with increasing responsibility

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with infrastructure technologies, including:

    • Blade chassis and server platforms

    • Hypervisors

    • Storage systems and storage fabrics

    • Backup and recovery solutions

  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and software-defined data center concepts

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to support equipment racking and onsite installations

  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites up to 20%

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $135,000 - $190,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
