Life insurance is one of the world's most important products. It's also one of the hardest to build, distribute, and modernize. Bestow exists to change that.
Bestow is a leading vertical technology platform serving some of the largest and most innovative life insurers. Our platform unifies the fragmented, legacy value chain, enabling carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years. Carriers choose us to scale and operate at unprecedented speed, powered by AI and automation.
Bestow isn't selling policies. We're building the infrastructure that helps an entire industry move faster, reach more people, and deliver on its promise.
Backed by leading investors (Goldman Sachs, Hedosophia, NEA, Valar, 8VC) and trusted by major carriers, Bestow is powered by a team that moves with precision, purpose, and heart. If you want to help reimagine a centuries-old industry with lasting impact, join us.
Bestow offers flexible remote/hybrid work, meaningful benefits, equity, and substantial growth opportunities.
Bestow participates in the E-Verify Program.
ABOUT THE TEAMLabs is a team within Bestow incubating experimental products at the frontier of insurance technology and AI. We are full-stack with the autonomy to explore greenfield opportunities—and successful products are integrated into Bestow’s core platform. Our focus is on meeting the needs of our enterprise customers and growing user base to transform how millions of people access life insurance.
ABOUT THE ROLEWe’re looking for someone who knows life insurance and annuities inside and out—the products, the processes, the regulations, and the painful realities of legacy administration—and wants to apply that knowledge to build something fundamentally better.
As a key member of the Bestow Labs team, you’ll work alongside best-in-class talent to shape an AI-first platform that serves both new products and the vast portfolios that exist on legacy systems today. You’ll bring deep, end-to-end knowledge of life and annuities products—including complex cash value, variable, and indexed products with riders—to validate requirements, guide design decisions, and ensure that what we build actually works for the world’s largest carriers.
This isn’t a role where you watch from the sidelines. You’ll be in the room when hard tradeoffs are made, translating domain complexity into solutions that are both technically sound and practically grounded. Your expertise will directly influence what we build and how we build it.
WHAT YOU'LL DOValidate business and technical requirements for platform solutions in close collaboration with actuaries, engineers, and product managers
Design and architect solutions that accommodate the full spectrum of life insurance and annuities products—from term life to complex cash value, variable, and indexed products with riders
Serve as the go-to expert on life insurance product structures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Partner with engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet the needs of modern insurers while supporting legacy product portfolios
Translate complex insurance requirements into clear, actionable guidance that engineering teams can build against
Help shape product strategy by identifying opportunities and risks based on your deep understanding of carrier needs and legacy system constraints
You seek out problems and opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive
You have a strong sense of ownership for the products you help build and deep understanding of the challenges insurers face with legacy systems and complex portfolios
You’ve spent enough time in this industry to feel certain there has to be a better way—and you’re ready to help build it
You work well with cross-functional partners: actuaries, engineers, and product managers
You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where you must balance innovation with practical constraints, but you feel compelled to find ways to push past those constraints
10+ years of experience in life insurance and annuities, with deep knowledge of product structures, administration, and operations
Extensive experience with complex life insurance products, including cash value, variable, indexed, and universal life, as well as various riders
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations in life insurance
Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and actionable guidance for engineering teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be located in the United States
Strongly Preferred
Prior experience building or implementing life insurance policy administration systems (e.g., FAST, DXC, Sapiens, OIPA, ALIP, etc.) at a core systems provider or systems integrator
Hands-on proficiency with configuring and implementing insurance administration platforms
