Solutions Consultant

About the Position:

The Solutions Consultant is a senior role within Euna’s Solutions organization, built for people who have done this work (inside a city, county, or state government, a nonprofit, or a tribal or educational organization) and are ready to bring that hard-won expertise to the market.

The Solutions Consultant’s value is in their credibility with prospects, with customers, with conference audiences, and with the product teams building the next generation of our tools. They are a trusted voice that Euna deploys where practitioner authority matters most: in discovery, in executive conversations, on stages, and in rooms where long-term relationships are formed. The Solutions Consultant brings depth of experience that shapes how deals are won, how products are built, and how Euna is perceived in the market.

Where the Solutions Engineer is a product authority who knows our platform inside and out, the Solutions Consultant is a practitioner authority who knows the work inside and out. Together, they make Euna’s sales and customer conversations sharper, more credible, and more grounded in what customers actually care about.

Domain Focus:

The Solutions Consultant brings deep expertise in government budgeting, procurement, or grants management — areas where Euna serves the public sector and where genuine practitioner knowledge changes the quality of every customer conversation. Expertise spanning more than one area is a real asset; what matters most is that the knowledge is real, earned from doing the work. The preferred background for all three domains is state or local government (city, county, or state agency), with nonprofit, tribal, and educational backgrounds valued as well.

Government Budgeting

Deep knowledge of public sector budget development, execution, and reporting — including fund accounting principles, capital budgeting, position budgeting, performance-based budgeting, budget-to-actual analysis, and the political and compliance dimensions of the government budget cycle. Practical experience working in or alongside a budget office at the city, county, or state level is strongly preferred.

Procurement

Comprehensive understanding of public procurement from requisition through contract close including competitive bidding, cooperative purchasing, RFP and RFQ development, supplier management, and the regulatory environment governing public purchasing (state statutes, local ordinances, and federal requirements such as Uniform Guidance for federally funded purchases). Experience in a public procurement office is strongly preferred.

Grants Management

End-to-end knowledge of the grants lifecycle for both grant-receiving organizations and grant-making funders including grant seeking, application development, award management, sub-recipient oversight, federal compliance (2 CFR Part 200), reporting, and closeout. Experience managing or administering grants in a governmental, nonprofit, tribal, or educational setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Sales Team Engagement

  • Participate in discovery calls alongside Account Executives to deepen understanding of customer needs, validate pain points, and establish domain credibility with prospects.
  • Ensure that Euna’s language, terminology, and framing aligns with how practitioners in that domain actually speak and think, so that every customer conversation reflects genuine understanding of their work.
  • Help identify and sharpen win themes, informing how the Solutions Engineer structures and customizes demonstrations to reflect the customer’s actual priorities and operational context.
  • Consult on RFP responses to ensure win themes are grounded in domain reality, requirements are interpreted accurately, and Euna’s responses reflect a genuine understanding of the customer’s work.
  • Participate in executive-level meetings and presentations to lend practitioner credibility at the decision-making level, particularly on enterprise opportunities.
  • Build trust with prospects and customers by demonstrating that Euna understands their world, not just our product.

Enterprise and Conference Engagement

  • Attend key industry conferences GFOA, NIGP, NACo, GMA, NASBO, and other relevant associations to build relationships with senior practitioners, finance directors, procurement officers, and grants administrators at enterprise organizations.
  • Engage at the practitioner and leadership level with prospective customers to build authentic relationships grounded in shared professional experience.
  • Represent Euna as a credible voice in the domain community, advocating for our philosophy and approach to serving the public sector.
  • Identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and community priorities at conferences and surface these insights back to product, sales, and marketing teams.

Thought Leadership and Market Presence

  • Develop and publish white papers, articles, and guides on topics relevant to their domain: budget modernization, procurement reform, grant compliance, emerging regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Contribute to conferences, webinars, and industry events whether through speaking, facilitating, or participating as a recognized practitioner voice that reflects well on Euna’s position in the market.
  • Contribute to Euna’s content marketing and positioning strategy by informing the language, perspectives, and points of view that resonate with the practitioner community.
  • Serve as an internal resource on domain topics, helping sales, marketing, and product teams understand how practitioners think and what they actually care about.

Customer Ideation and Community Engagement

  • Contribute to Customer Advisory Board sessions by facilitating substantive conversations about how the domain is evolving and where Euna’s product roadmap should go.
  • Participate in Eunaverse (Euna’s annual customer conference) as a featured contributor: leading domain-specific sessions, facilitating conversations, and serving as a trusted resource that makes the conference genuinely valuable for practitioners.
  • Identify new and upcoming trends within the domain community and help Euna understand their implications for product strategy, positioning, and customer success.
  • Serve as a resource customers can rely on for honest, informed perspective, not just product advocacy.

Product Advisory

  • Consult regularly with product teams to ensure they understand the operational realities, regulatory requirements, and practitioner priorities within the domain.
  • Review product roadmap items and provide feedback grounded in how practitioners actually work, not just how software is typically designed.
  • Identify gaps between Euna’s current capabilities and what practitioners in the domain actually need, and advocate clearly for those gaps to be addressed.
  • Help product teams develop the right vocabulary and framing for features, so that product releases land credibly with the practitioner audience.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Significant hands-on experience working in government budgeting, public procurement, or grants management (more than one a plus).
  • Direct experience working within a public sector organization(s) (city, county, or state government strongly preferred; nonprofit, tribal, or educational institutions considered).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with authority and credibility on practitioner topics in front of senior audiences, including elected officials, finance directors, department heads, and executive leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate practitioner knowledge into compelling content, presentations, and contributions to industry events.
  • Track record of building trusted relationships with peers and leadership in the public sector community.
  • Comfort operating in a commercial environment and contributing to sales outcomes without functioning as a traditional salesperson.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or advisory role within a public sector SaaS company.
  • Experience contributing to professional conferences (GFOA, NIGP, NACo, NASBO, or equivalent).
  • Published writing or contributed content in a domain-relevant professional context.
  • Familiarity with Euna Solutions products or competitive solutions serving the same market.
  • Active participation in professional associations relevant to the domain (GFOA membership, CPPO or CPPB certification, NGMA involvement, etc.).
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including industry conferences.

Domain-Specific Credentials

Budgeting:

  • Experience as a budget analyst, budget director, or finance director in a government setting.
  • Familiarity with GFOA best practices, CAFR/ACFR preparation, or budget award programs.
  • Experience with fund accounting, capital improvement planning, or position control.

Procurement:

  • Experience as a purchasing agent, procurement director, or contract officer in a government setting.
  • CPPO, CPPB, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of state procurement statutes, cooperative purchasing programs, and federal requirements under Uniform Guidance.

Grants Management:

  • Experience as a grants administrator, grants manager, or program officer in a governmental, nonprofit, tribal, or educational setting.
  • Practical knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance), single audit requirements, and subrecipient monitoring.
  • CGMS certification
  • Experience with federal grant programs (CDBG, ARPA, FEMA, EPA, HUD, or similar).
