The Lead Business Process Specialist provides strong technical capabilities to lead the strategy, governance, and operational excellence of Machine Sales and PINS data processes. This role serves as the business lead for global Machine Sales & PINS information-ensuring data accuracy, enabling business insights, and guiding the modernization of tools and systems used by Caterpillar and our dealers.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the business function for Machine Sales & PINS data by ensuring data integrity and alignment to business rules, governing CAB-driven system changes to maintain stability, and driving modernization initiatives that enhance workflows, transparency, and strategic planning across global teams.
- Own data governance frameworks and validation rules for WSA, UCC, ABP, and Competitive Model datasets while ensuring timely, high‑quality data delivery through pipeline monitoring and anomaly resolution, and overseeing classification schemas, competitor updates, and critical reporting cycles.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Cloud Ops, and IT teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions while leveraging functional knowledge of Snowflake, AWS, Power BI, SnapLogic, REST APIs, and VS Code to guide technical discussions, validate solutions, promote modern tools and AI adoption, and support framework and security upgrades.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline business processes by improving reporting efficiency, reducing manual intervention, and guiding the design of automated quality checks, standardized workflows, and self‑service reporting capabilities
- Lead business requirements and continuity planning during migrations from legacy platforms, validating modernized workflows that improve real‑time decision‑making and data accessibility
- Provide Tier 1/2 support for global dealer and internal users of Machine Sales & PINS data, while leading regional coordinators through annual business cycles and driving dealer-facing initiatives that ensure adherence to PINS information standards.
What You Have:
- Education/Experience: This position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and 6+ years of job-related experience
- Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Application Delivery Process: Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, and formal application delivery methodologies; ability to utilize these in order to deliver new or enhanced applications.
- Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Familiarity with cloud data environments (Snowflake, AWS), reporting tools (Power BI), and digital integration workflows, supported by VS Code and AI/LLM tools.
- Experience guiding system enhancements and business transformations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business needs and technical execution
- Ability to lead global stakeholders and drive consensus in complex ecosystems
