Overview
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to lead AI strategy discovery within a global Engineering organization focused on optimizing the use of AI. This role will serve as a single, accountable lead driving discovery, shaping strategic recommendations, and aligning cross‑functional leaders around a prioritized AI roadmap. The ideal candidate blends executive presence, strategic thinking, data analysis, and facilitation skills to translate ideas into a clear, actionable AI strategy. This position requires qualified candidates to live in the continental US, ideally in Mountain Time Zone. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, visa transfer or C2C candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive discovery efforts, including interviews with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams, to identify where AI is desired, needed, and most impactful
- Refine current ideas and uncover additional opportunities through discovery, research, and industry experience
- Evaluate AI opportunities based on level of effort and business impact (e.g., revenue generation, cost savings, efficiency gains)
- Develop and facilitate a prioritization framework and strategic AI roadmap
- Craft and present a data‑driven AI strategy in executive‑ready PowerPoint presentations
- Socialize and refine the strategy with senior leadership and the AI Committee
- Design recommendations for an AI initiative tracking dashboard, including KPIs and success metrics
- Develop an AI governance model, including RACI, operating standards, and decision frameworks
- Create a project plan and roadmap, identifying risks, dependencies, and required change‑management activities
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a senior strategy consultant, advisor, or program leader supporting executive stakeholders (CIO/CTO level)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related; MBA preferred
- Prior experience in the Architecture and Engineering industry is preferred
- Strong background in AI, digital transformation, or advanced technology strategy
- Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise discovery and stakeholder interviews
- Excellent analytical skills, with experience assessing business impact and effort tradeoffs
- Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, especially in PowerPoint
- Experience defining governance models, KPI metrics, dashboards, and roadmaps
- Ability to operate independently while influencing across complex, global organizations
Compensation
Sand Cherry Associates is required by Colorado law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a consulting engagement with an expected annual salary of $125,000 - $150,000. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
