Uber Freight is seeking a Sr. Counsel to join our Legal team to focus on negotiating commercial agreements. We are looking for an experienced commercial agreements lawyer who will bring a dynamic combination of analytical skills and emotional awareness, maturity, and ability to think strategically and implement tactically, and interpersonal skills to enhance value in partnership negotiations and contracting.
What You'll Do
- Markup and negotiate commercial agreements, including our key customer, supplier and business development agreements
- Work closely with key legal and business stakeholders across Uber Freight’s business
- Learn and understand the regulatory framework of the transportation industry and provide actionable advice to team members
- Work on a variety of Uber Freight projects and business operations
- Support new Uber Freight initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of 4+ years of law firm or in-house experience
- Undergraduate degree and law degree
- Member of the bar
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements, working a redline and finding practical solutions to get deals done
- Ability to interface with multiple business stakeholders and provide actionable advice
- Possess excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the freight industry is a plus, but not required
- Enthusiasm about Uber Freight!
For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $112,700 - $156,000 per year.
