JOB SUMMARY: We are building a next generation analytics platform that ingests provider claims and clinical data in (near) real time, standardizes it into a Common Data Model, and powers insights across OCI, Azure and AWS. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical leader who drives the design, development, and optimization of this platform from ingestion through curated data, with an emphasis on performance, data quality, governance, and security (HIPAA/HITRUST).

 

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with business users, technology teams, and executives to understand their data needs to create innovative solutions.
  • Guiding decisions and establishing best practices on data integration/engineering, as well as the future of our data infrastructure.
  • Document high- and low-level technical design.
  • Adept in agile methodologies and capable of applying DevOps and increasingly DataOps principles to data pipelines.
  • Strong ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata and workload management.
  • Thinking through long-term impacts of key design decisions and handling failure scenarios.
  • Ability to provide mentoring to a team of data engineers.
  • Research and learn new technologies and processes as part of continuous improvement.
  • Work with data science, data engineering, and software engineering teams to automate data analysis and visualization, advise on data transformation, and explore ways to design and develop data infrastructure Requirements
Preferred Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, Python, with production grade Spark (batch & structured streaming) on Data Flow, Databricks or EMR
  • Proven track record optimizing Autonomous Data Warehouse (or Snowflake, Redshift) partitioning, statistics, query tuning, and data sharing patterns (ORDS, JDBC, REST).
  • Good experience with claim data or clinical data
  • Proven ability to work with cloud-native data platforms (OCI, AWS , Azure)
  • Expertise in processing/parsing EDI (837/835), HL7/CCDA, or FHIR bundles.
  • Experience building data ingestion and transformation pipelines at scale.
  • Experience in building metadata driven data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data lineage, auditability, and governance.
  • Experience in building data quality framework.
  • Experience with building or using data pipeline Orchestrator such as Airflow.
  • Experience with DataOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform.
  • Experience with analytics platform implementations such as Delta Lake and Lakehouse.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, work on multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a similarly relevant field is highly preferable.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $130 – 140K. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
