About the job

At ViFiVE, we deliver data-driven solutions to customers. So when things get in the way of progress, the data engineering team identifies time-consuming internal/external processes and then builds solutions that are reliable and scalable enough to work within the size and scope of the company. You observe the needs and translate into high-level technical specifications, design and develop recommended systems and consult with Business and Engineering heads to ensure smooth implementation.

Data Scientists work all across the teams to help shape ViFiVE’s core products by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge user data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to develop new measures and metrics. As a Data Scientist, you’ll focus on solving problems and creating value for internal/external customers by developing, organizing, and launching experiments and projects that add tremendous values to them.

You will:

  • Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, and analysis of large, complex datasets
  • Design, build and prototype analysis pipelines
  • Work closely with data engineers and clinicians to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions
  • Present findings and engineering recommendations such as new metric, ML models, and experimental analysis at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual display of quantitative information
  • Research and develop analysis, machine learning models, and optimization methods to improve the quality of ViFiVE’s core products

Data Scientists/Engineers at ViFiVE are researchers and developers who build AI-platform-as-a-service to revolutionize the Digital Health industry. Our scientists/engineers develop full-stack software from Machine Learning to Cloud Services – this requires state-of-the-art research skills and market awareness, the soft skills to effectively interact and ask questions, and the ability to quickly turn ideas into products. We focus on being a collaborative and open organization consisting of scientists/engineers with the highest technical depth, programming skills, and a keen eye for user experience. We expect you to be highly autonomous and independent and lead designs of major software components, systems, and features. We also expect you to work with high-level product requirements and manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Minimum qualifications

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, CS, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with statistical software such as Python or R, and database languages such as SQL

Preferred qualifications

  • PhD degree in CS or related field
  • Experience in at least one general purpose programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C/C++, JavaScript)
  • Solid data structures, algorithms and software design
  • Hands on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction
  • Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
  • Experience shipping product in a dynamic and agile early stage startup environment

About us

  • ViFiVE (www.vifive.co) was founded in 2020. We develop AI technology to help 127M patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders in the U.S. by creating Digital Health solutions that are accessible, affordable, and patient-centered
  • A start-up gives you a chance for professional career growth and building expertise in your field while providing opportunities for cross-functional work. We’re NOT a big tech company already saturated with experienced software engineers for incremental work
  • We are a VC-backed early-stage startup with extremely high potential for growth

If you are interested in digital health technologies, AI/ML, and “next big things”, you should talk to us. Please send us your resume with a short overview of yourself, salary expectations, and why this role is perfect for you.
