Who We Are

Mode Mobile builds products that allow millions of users to earn rewards from the content, communities, and experiences they already love. We value innovation, collaboration, curiosity, and getting things done. We operate transparently, empower everyone to speak up, and believe great teams make great products. Trimbox is just getting started.

Our Team and Culture Drive Our Success

Our team is the heart of our culture.  We value innovation, collaboration, and curiosity, with a passion for getting things done.  We strive to hire and cultivate the best team members and foster a culture of open communication and transparency.  We are driven and hard-working but also committed to having fun along the way.  We allow OKRs to guide us, assume positive intent, sometimes agree to disagree and commit, honor our commitments, seek to accomplish more with less, and encourage everyone to speak up as our team owns our company’s success.

About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Sr. Frontend Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of user-facing features across Trimbox’s web and mobile surfaces. You will own core UI flows, build clean reusable components, and deliver performant experiences that make inbox management fast, intuitive, and delightful.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who loves building beautiful interfaces, optimizing performance, and shipping features that users can feel instantly. You’ll collaborate closely with backend, product, and design to bring new capabilities to market through rapid iterations and continuous deployment.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, build, and maintain frontend features for inbox cleanup, subscription management, and workflow automation
  • Build scalable, reusable UI components and design systems
  • Implement responsive layouts and accessibility best practices across devices
  • Optimize rendering performance, page speed, code splitting, and asset delivery
  • Monitor frontend performance, error tracking, and user session metrics
  • Identify frontend bottlenecks and drive improvements to user experience and conversion
  • Implement features for web-first experiences with support for React Native mobile surfaces
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate REST APIs and real-time features
  • Work in 2-week sprints with CI/CD and code review best practices
  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, tooling, state management, and build pipelines
  • Maintain a high standard of code quality, documentation, and testing

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of frontend engineering experience, ideally in consumer apps, SaaS, or browser-based utilities
  • Expert-level proficiency in React Native + TypeScript (core to this role)
  • Production experience with React Native or ReactJS (mobile required, web preferred)
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, modern frontend patterns, and component architecture
  • Experience integrating UI with APIs (REST, real-time, or event-based)
  • Familiarity with mobile UI patterns on Android/iOS (React Native)
  • Experience optimizing performance, accessibility, and rendering efficiency
  • Experience with visual debugging, error monitoring, and analytics tools (e.g., Sentry, LogRocket, PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel)

Preferred

  • Experience designing and implementing responsive inbox or email-related UI (e.g., email parsing UI, subscription cards, filtering, or lists)
  • Experience building mobile apps with Expo platform
  • Experience working in Node-based frontend build environments (Next.js, Vite, Webpack)
  • Experience building Chrome or browser extensions
  • Familiarity with Firebase for auth, messaging, or real-time features

Nice to Have

  • Experience with feature flags, experimentation, or A/B testing
  • AI-assisted development (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
  • Exposure to design systems, storybook libraries, or component frameworks
  • Experience with user session replay, heatmaps, or performance logging

How You Work

  • Take ownership of features end-to-end, from concept to production
  • Move quickly and thrive in high-velocity environments
  • Communicate clearly in asynchronous teams
  • Care deeply about UI quality and user experience, not just code
  • Push for clarity, simplicity, and constant improvement
  • Alignment with our core values:
    • Accountable: You take ownership of your responsibilities, demonstrating trustworthiness and self-discipline. You are consistent in your work, transparent in your actions, and communicate effectively. You follow through on commitments and strive for continuous improvement.
    • Action-driven: Identify what is most important, agree on scope, execute in a timely manner, and drive the greatest impact.  You take initiative, roll up your sleeves, and get things done.
    • Caring: You genuinely care about yourself and others, our business and craft, our mission and vision, and are passionate in heart and mind. You understand the importance of our team and strive to create a positive, supportive work environment.
    • Curious: You focus on the ‘why,’ learn and expand your knowledge, explore new ideas, and generally make things better.  You're a lifelong learner with a thirst for knowledge and a constant desire to improve.
    • Thorough: Your work is thoughtful, impactful, timely, accurate, and complete.  You pay attention to detail, are meticulous, and ensure quality work and compliance.

We Believe in the Following Workplace Norms

  • Allow OKRs to Guide Us
  • Assume Positive Intent
  • Agree to Disagree & Commit
  • Set New Precedents
  • Accomplish More with Less
  • Hold Yourself & Others to High Standards

  • A competitive compensation package.
  • We offer generous perks & benefits to team members.
  • Participation in the Company's equity plan (for full-time team members).
  • We provide individual bonuses in accordance with our Company Bonus Program.
  • Work with energetic, passionate, and results-driven people.
  • Celebrate team members' personal and work milestones.
  • Remote social activities, including virtual coffee buddies.
  • Bonusly - We use Bonusly as a way to recognize and reward team members for their hard work and commitment.
