CNO Financial Group is hiring a Sr IT Business Architect to lead & support moderate to complex projects to define business capabilities and analyze problems or opportunities. The role will work with Business Relationship Directors, business unit leaders, IT leaders, architects, analysts and product owners/managers on large transformational initiatives. The Sr IT Business Architect utilizes business architecture analytical tools to assess current state and future state business capabilities based on near-term and long-term business needs and challenges. The role ensures technology architecture aligns with business objectives and manages project scope. The Sr IT Business Architect will act as a liaison between IT and business units, supporting implementation teams and guiding scoping, estimation, and solutioning of new systems or business solutions..

Core responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Independently evaluate business technology requests of moderate complexity and lead/ conduct analysis needed to define the scope, sizing and requirements to implement business technology requests.

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business solutions and business requirements.

  • Work as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, organize, evaluate and validate needs for changes to business workflows and information systems. 

  • Lead moderately to complex projects and create, with limited support, process mapping, value chain mapping, conceptual design specifications and use case artifacts.  

  • Create business capability views, capability heatmaps, value stream analysis, high-level business context diagrams, information mapping documents, perform root cause analysis and similar artifacts

  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of respective programs.

  • Independently identify opportunities to streamline process and enable continuous improvement; identify alternative approaches to enable informed decision making.

  • Prepare communications and presentations related to business systems, processes, and analysis efforts.

What you need (Minimum requirements):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Economics or equivalent.

  • 7 years of proven business experience as a business architect, consultant, and or a similar role.

  • Knowledge of Insurance domain.

  • Strong working knowledge of IT systems and corresponding business applications including knowledge of various organizational functions, customers, and their processes to lead successful system implementations.

  • Ability to work as a collaborative part of the project team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • Solid technical knowledge of IT business systems (including corresponding applications) and how they integrate with corresponding business area supported. Conduct research into project and technology related issues independently to identify potential resolutions and implement desired resolution.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and can explain complex information. Ability to use communication skills to build consensus across teams and functions.

  • Knowledge of business capability model, operating model, analytical tools and techniques  to provide recommendations regarding business solutions as this role will analyze and solve complex business problems.

  • Ability to balance competing priorities, and successfully complete tasks while navigating sensitive topics and team dynamics.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, Visio, and other business-related software.

What will set you apart (Preferred experience):

  • Certified Business Architecture (CBA)

  • Experience in strategic business transformations/innovations.

  • Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours

Compensation

Pay Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00 Annual
