The Impact of a Sr. Lead UX Designer at Coupa:
As a Lead Designer on Coupa’s Supplier Experience team, you will own the design vision for the Foundations pillar of the Coupa network. This pillar underpins the Supplier Grow and Transact experiences, providing the shared platform, systems, and workflows that connect suppliers to the full Coupa ecosystem. You will design the core experiences that every supplier relies on, from onboarding and identity to profile management and navigation across Coupa products. Your work will ensure suppliers can move seamlessly between Grow, Transact, and other Coupa offerings, without friction or duplication, regardless of where they are in their business journey. A key focus of this role is establishing the Coupa Supplier Portal (CPS) as the single source of truth for suppliers. You will help consolidate fragmented experiences into a cohesive, AI-powered network portal that gives suppliers clear access to all of Coupa, whether they are just getting started with their first customer or managing relationships with many buyers.
What You'll Do:
- Define the end-to-end design strategy for the Foundations pillar, including supplier onboarding, identity, profiles, navigation, and shared platform capabilities. Translate business goals and platform constraints into a clear, long-term vision that connects Grow, Transact, and the broader Coupa product ecosystem.
- Lead the design of foundational, cross-product experiences that enable suppliers to move seamlessly across Coupa. Ensure that core systems and workflows feel coherent, trustworthy, and easy to use, even as complexity scales behind the scenes.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders to shape platform roadmaps, define shared requirements, and make thoughtful tradeoffs. Advocate for supplier clarity and consistency while balancing technical and organizational constraints.
- Help define how AI supports foundational supplier experiences, from guided onboarding and profile intelligence to proactive recommendations that help suppliers discover and access the right Coupa capabilities at the right time.
- Produce high-quality flows, components, prototypes, interaction specifications, and end-to-end service experience maps that align teams on how the supplier platform works. Set a high bar for craft, clarity, and scalability through your own work.
- Lead and collaborate on research with a global range of suppliers to understand onboarding challenges, trust signals, and cross-product friction. Translate insights into platform-level improvements that benefit the entire supplier experience.
- Work closely with the Design Systems team to evolve shared patterns, components, and platform conventions. Ensure foundational experiences scale across web and mobile and remain consistent across Grow, Transact, and other Coupa products.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- 10+ years of product design experience designing complex B2B SaaS, platform, or marketplace products, ideally in environments with multiple products, users, or integrations.
- A proven ability to simplify complexity, demonstrated through work on foundational or high-stakes workflows such as onboarding, identity, permissions, configuration, or cross-product experiences.
- Systems thinking, with an understanding of how data, identity, trust, and workflows move through an ecosystem over time.
- Strong design craft, including expert-level Figma skills and experience contributing to mature design systems and shared platform patterns. You lead by example and raise the bar for those around you.
- Clear communication and influence, with the ability to align cross-functional partners, tell compelling product stories, and collaborate closely with engineering on scalable solutions and tradeoffs.
- Builder mindset: You are proactive and take initiative, work independently, and thrive in environments with ambiguity, ownership, and high standards.
