About the Role
We are seeking a Senior FP&A Manager to join our Finance team and help drive Blueland's next phase of growth. This role will own key components of the company's financial planning and forecasting processes while serving as a strategic financial partner to our DTC, Amazon, Marketing, and Operations teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building financial frameworks in a fast-paced environment, asking the right questions, surfacing business insights through analytics, and helping cross-functional teams make smarter, data-driven decisions. You'll partner closely with business leaders to evaluate opportunities, challenge assumptions, and influence decisions that drive profitable, sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business performance through data analysis and strategic financial planning.
This role requires strong business acumen and analytical capabilities, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, exceptional financial modeling skills and attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a simple, actionable way. This role reports to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities
Own and consistently improve the company forecasting models, providing sensitivity analyses, challenging assumptions, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Report on monthly financial results and forecasts, including variance analyses, key business trends, and actionable insights for the leadership team.
Develop and continuously improve reporting dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs) across financial and operating metrics, and provide regular analysis and communicate important takeaways to cross-functional partners.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations that influence executive decision-making and improve business performance.
Work cross-functionally with senior leaders across sales channels and departments to provide financial guidance and ad hoc analyses, ensuring alignment between business strategies and financial objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, helping optimize growth, profitability, and resource allocation.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and ensure alignment throughout the annual budgeting and periodic reforecast processes.
Develop business cases and financial analyses to support new product launches, customer investments, marketing initiatives, operational improvements, and other strategic priorities.
Evaluate the financial impact and return on investment of strategic initiatives, helping leadership prioritize investments across the business.
Proactively identify risks and opportunities, recommend actions, and help leadership make timely, informed decisions.
Continuously improve financial planning processes, reporting automation, and decision-support capabilities to build a scalable Finance organization.
Qualifications
6–9 years of experience in Strategic Finance and/or FP&A, including experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate FP&A, or strategic finance. Experience supporting a high-growth consumer products company is strongly preferred.
Exceptional financial modeling skills with strong attention to detail. Experience with NetSuite, Looker, or similar ERP and BI tools is a plus.
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
Ownership mentality with a demonstrated ability to independently drive cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.
Ability to think strategically while navigating ambiguity and balancing short-term execution with long-term priorities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor complex financial concepts to a wide range of audiences.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders through thoughtful analysis, sound judgment, and clear recommendations.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities in a high-growth environment.
Practical approach to problem-solving, knowing when to dive deep into data versus make informed decisions using reasonable assumptions and back-of-the-envelope analysis.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with incomplete data or evolving information.
Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to build scalable processes, challenge the status quo, and raise the bar.
Interested in and passionate about the environment, sustainability, and the Blueland mission.
