We are actively hiring for a Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Remote!

Your Role:

This role leads and develops a team of seven sourcing professionals while driving category strategies across the full vendor lifecycle in partnership with senior leadership. The scope spans multiple indirect procurement areas, including IT, Claims, Facilities, Professional Services, Marketing, and HR.

You’ll be responsible for building strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring high-quality and timely sourcing support, and actively promoting the value of Procurement across the business. The role also oversees intake, triage, savings, sourcing pipeline, and diversity and sustainability initiatives, while enabling effective collaboration across the enterprise.

Your Work:

  • Spend Analysis & Contracts:
  • Develops or oversees the development of short, medium and long term Category Spend Strategies focused on not just savings but vendor service optimization, knowledge transfer, brand alignment and various other soft Sourcing objectives.
  • Acts as a mentor and leader for contract construction, negotiations, and policy interpretations for subordinates, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Enables and develops expert level negotiation strategies for assigned contracts and categories.
  • Leadership:
  • Acts as a consultant and mentor for negotiating large, complex, and/or highly visible contracts and facilitates communication and process development between businesses, Legal and Sourcing.
  • Establishes and drives client and supplier expectations for seeking win-win negotiations outcomes
  • Hires, motivates and retains top talent
  • Directs and assures the success of the goals and work of various levels of Sourcing specialists.
  • Consults with clients at all levels to identify needs and requirements for changes to supply chain, suppliers, and enterprise supplier relationships;
  • Develops and educates client on early engagement and benefit of category spend planning.
  • Ensures that continuous improvements cause contract cycle times to improve and/or that the quality of delivered contracts improves over time;
  • Seeks opportunities to enhance and/or expand the effectiveness of contracts and/or or the improvement of suppliers supporting the enterprise
  • Advocates and champions for and of Sourcing both internally and externally.
  • Sourcing Process:
  • Works with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to create documents that adhere to approved sourcing processes and other requirements;
  • Conducts research and technical readings to elevate and improve the sourcing process; expert in collaborating and seeking best value solutions from suppliers;
  • Determines best financial options as balanced against other demands
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure the needs of the business are sufficiently addressed and articulated; responsible for client satisfaction for delivered services

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • 10+ years of relevant procurement, consultation, and sourcing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or 10 years equivalent business experience
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, project management, problem solving, and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and applicable business software
  • Understands, drafts, and negotiates contracts at nearly any/all levels of complexity and/or dollar thresholds
  • Knowledgeable and able to apply best practice methods, strategies, and operational options.
  • Above average knowledge and understanding of industry contracting methods, operational norms, supplier demands, and market trends

The national average salary range for this position is $144,450.00-$160,500.00. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on work location. The starting pay range for this position across all the states we hire in is $144,450.00-$192,550.00.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 20% of eligible pay.
