ABOUT THIS ROLE
Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop backend systems and scalable Market Data realtime APIs that drive critical domains such as Risk Engine, End Investor platforms, Wealth Management tools, Portfolio Rebalancing, and UIs. This role focuses on designing and delivering reliable APIs to enable real-time market data access for both internal systems and client-facing platforms.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, leveraging cloud-native technologies to build high-performance and scalable solutions that handle diverse asset classes—including Equities, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, and Options—across key data categories such as Pricing and Fundamentals.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Backend Development: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java to power market data APIs supporting client-facing UIs and internal systems.
Microservices Engineering: Build and manage containerized microservices using Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for market data services.
Cloud-Native Applications: Develop and optimize infrastructure leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and associated technologies, including AlloyDB, Google Pub/Sub, GCS, and BigQuery, to ensure efficient processing and storage of market data.
Workflow Automation: Utilize tools like Astronomer and Apache Airflow for orchestration and automation of workflows within the Market Data ecosystem.
Distributed Systems: Design and implement scalable, event-driven systems employing Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and AlloyDb/PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data delivery and processing for diverse scenarios.
API Development: Design robust, secure, and efficient gRPC and REST APIs to enable real-time access to market data for key business domains (e.g., Risk Engine, End Investor platforms, Wealth tools, and Ascend UIs).
Market Data Processing: Build systems for real-time delivery of market data across asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, and Options, ensuring efficient handling of data categories (e.g., Pricing and Fundamentals).
Performance Optimization: Solve complex technical problems, optimizing system performance, scalability, reliability, and data latency.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with globally distributed teams to align architecture strategies and translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Support junior engineers through mentoring, technical guidance, and promoting best practices to enhance team expertise.
System Design & Architecture: Drive key architectural decisions for scalable, secure, and well-integrated solutions that meet the specific needs of the Market Data domain.
Education and/or Experience:
BA, BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field (or equivalent work experience) required.
5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems and microservices.
Demonstrated experience in leading projects, collaborating across functions, and mentoring junior engineers, with a commitment to contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Certifications in Java, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud) preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in building APIs to deliver secure, fault-tolerant access to real-time market data.
Expertise in backend performance tuning and ensuring system scalability and reliability.
Familiarity with financial systems, market data services, and real-time processing solutions.
Experience leveraging GCP tools and services, such as AlloyDB, GCS, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Valkey, and workflow orchestration tools like Astronomer and Apache Airflow.
Hands-on experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Deep understanding of securing APIs and backend infrastructures in cloud environments.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a hybrid capacity, requiring on-site collaboration three days per week.

Salary Range
$123,000-$153,750The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
