Job Summary
The Accountant position analyzes and reports on financial data to help the business run efficiently. This
position will process business transactions including accounts payable and receivable, disbursements,
expense vouchers, and receipts. This position requires advanced knowledge in GAAP and works
independently to interpret or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. This position
reports to the Accounting Manager and has no direct reports.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Participate in key areas of the monthly financial close to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- on financial results.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile various balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assists employees, vendors, clients, and/or customers by answering questions related to
- accounts, procedures and services.
- Responsible for accounting functions that are part of an efficient month-end closing process,
- including reporting.
- Properly store and manage financial data.
- Regularly review bookkeeping for accuracy, provide reporting as necessary for audits.
- Review and update accounting processes and procedures as needed.
- Make financial recommendations.
- Collaborate with accounting team as necessary.
- Maintain confidential and secure storage of important financial information.
- Ensure all bookkeeping is accurate and adheres to state and federal law.
- Complete ad hoc projects and generate monthly reports as assigned.

- Measurement of accuracy against work produced.
- Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, willingness and
- ability to learn new skills and information.
- Other key performance measurements as determined by the direct supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 3+ years of progressive and operational accounting experience.
- Strong Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
- Operationally comfortable with GAAP.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screen.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with SL or Counterpoint a plus.
- Experience with software system conversion is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to organize work, identify and complete critical tasks, and work independently with limited
- supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds across locations and
- departments.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers
- and to listen effectively to customer needs.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer
- satisfaction.
- Willingness to take on new projects or assignments.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Travel up to 5% of the time, some overnight travel required.
