Cision is seeking a visionary and deeply experienced Staff Power Platform Engineer to drive enterprise-wide architecture, innovation, and scalability of our Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. This strategic role will serve as the technical authority and thought leader in leveraging Power Platform technologies—including Power Apps, Power Automate, CoPilot Studio, Power BI, Power Pages, and Dataverse—to accelerate digital transformation, enhance business productivity, and enforce governance at scale.

The Staff Engineer will mentor teams, establish best practices, and serve as a bridge between business strategy and technical implementation. You will architect complex solutions, champion governance and lifecycle management frameworks, and lead initiatives that democratize automation and AI across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and lead development of complex, scalable enterprise-grade solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Establish and govern enterprise-wide strategy for Power Platform adoption, security, DLP enforcement, licensing optimization, and environment management.
  • Lead the implementation of robust ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) practices with full DevOps automation (using Azure DevOps, Power Platform CLI, GitHub, etc.).
  • Design and enforce architectural and coding standards for reusable components, scalable data models, and secure integration patterns.
  • Mentor and coach a community of innovators (citizen developers and copilot agents) to ensure high-quality, maintainable, standardized solutions which align with business goals.
  • Provide executive-level input on platform roadmap, capability expansion, and strategic alignment with Microsoft innovations.
  • Enable intelligent automation and AI-driven workflows through advanced Power Automate, Power Fx, and CoPilot Studio features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-impact use cases and translate them into technical design and implementation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise IT policies, security standards, and data governance frameworks.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, architectural diagrams, governance playbooks, and enablement materials.
  • Design, develop, optimize and maintain solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, CoPilot Studio and Dataverse.
  • Integrate Power Platform with Microsoft 365 (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Outlook) and external systems via APIs, custom connectors, and Azure services.
  • Ensure platform security, performance, and reliability in accordance with enterprise policies.
  • Remain updated with the latest Power Platform features and updates in the Microsoft Power Platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise software engineering, with at least 5+ years hands-on with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Proven experience designing and scaling Power Platform solutions across large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep technical mastery of Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, Power Automate (cloud and desktop), Power BI, CoPilot Studio, and Dataverse.
  • Expert in integrating Power Platform with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure Services, and external APIs/custom connectors.
  • Strong command of ALM, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps, and Power Platform CLI.
  • Advanced knowledge of security roles, authentication strategies, and enterprise-grade performance tuning.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience setting standards, coaching teams, and driving governance initiatives.
  • Experience with custom connectors, REST APIs, and handling JSON.
  • Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, API Management, and Logic Apps.
  • Comfortable with ALM practices using tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certifications: PL-400, PL-600, or other advanced certifications.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade RPA using Power Automate Desktop.
  • Familiarity with Power Fx, TypeScript, or JavaScript for advanced customizations.
  • Prior involvement in Center of Excellence (CoE) development or federated governance models.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, or other advanced data and analytics platforms.
  • Experience engaging with Microsoft’s product teams, technical communities, or MVP ecosystem is a strong plus.
