Charter Casting is hiring a Strategic Account Manager focusing on growing our Defense Market.

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of defense partnerships? As a Strategic Account Manager – Defense, you will be at the forefront of strengthening and expanding Charter Casting's relationships with our most critical OEM customers across multiple markets.

Position details:

  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Location: an ideal candidate will be based in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan with ability to travel to our plants in Shawano, WI & Woodstock, IL

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in sales & marketing and/or engineering in the metals industry.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business through engineered solutions.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and tight timeframes to carry out sales objectives.
  • Strong time management capability.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Goal oriented with a demonstrated successful track record.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in engaging with others and learning their area of the business.
  • Familiarity with basic features of Microsoft Products.

Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated consultative/solution selling skills.
  • Experience selling to or working with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing.
  • Experience with strategic account planning process.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and requiring little or no supervision.
  • Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Products and Salesforce CRM.

What you'll focus on:

  • Collaborates with commercial team, in leading the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan to advance Charter Casting's portfolio with strategic accounts.
  • Analyzes, models market, assesses attractiveness of opportunities and leads to the development of strategic account strategies to realize the opportunities.  
  • Develop new business with target and strategic accounts through consultative/solution selling of two product lines.
  • Maintain existing business within assigned strategic accounts.
  • Develops deep relationships with assigned strategic accounts at multiple levels within their organization.
  • Customer focus: support and manage customer communications including but not limited to product specification, quality, delivery, etc….within the scope and capability of Charter Cast.
  • Directs the activities of strategic accounts and aligns the necessary internal resources to interact with and support the customer.
  • Develops, evaluates, and implements pricing models and strategies to optimize revenue, market share, and long-term profits.
  • Monitors competitive activity and identifies key customers’ needs.
  • Be the fusion point between Charter Cast and the customer, being the face of the business to the customer and voice of the customer inside Charter Cast.
  • Directs regular review of markets and strategic accounts to identify trends and promising opportunities for profitable long-term growth.
  • Represents the company at industry association meetings and trade shows.
  • Support the S&OP and Business Planning processes to provide sales forecasts and report performance of the assigned strategic accounts to these plans.

The annual hiring range for this position is: $111,500-$139,400. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation decisions are tailored to the unique circumstances of each position and candidate.
