Job Description

POSITION SCOPE

As the Strategic Marketing Manager, Life Sciences, you will manage the development of marketing strategy and programs to maximize customer demand and sales growth for Rockwell Automation's Lifesciences industry. We are looking for a combination of strategy, creativity, and an understanding of the market landscape within manufacturing. You will collaborate with multiple internal organizations and professionals at multiple levels, globally, including Sales and Marketing, Industry Teams, Business Units and the Portfolio Marketing Function. You will report to our Head of Global Industry Strategy and Marketing, Life Sciences. This role is hybrid but can be located near any office location in USA.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Lifesciences(LS) Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies tailored to LS, aligning with our goals, customer needs and market trends.

2. Market Research, and Analysis: Conduct in-depth primary and secondary market research to estimate size of market opportunities, identify new opportunities, understand market share, assess competition, and understand customer needs.

3. Regulatory knowledge. Have or quickly build deep knowledge of Pharmaceutical/Med Device manufacturing and quality requlations, ability to participate in industry consortia and contribute to industry responses to draft guidances or contribute to standards as part of our ISPE/Biophorum membership

4. Industry relationship development: Build direct knowledge of important industry partners partners, consortia and associations, understanding their unique requirements and position our products and services using the voice of the customer. Contribute to standards as part of our ISPE/Biophorum memberships.

5. Product Positioning: Work with the product management and portfolio marketing teams to ensure our offerings align with industry needs and help define product positioning.

6. Marketing Campaigns: Help build marketing campaigns working with campaign leaders and commercial marketing managers. Support digital marketing, content creation, trade shows, and other promotional activities, to build awareness and demand.

7. Content: Draft and review content to support external campaigns, create presentations, write or co-write blogs.

8. Thought leadership: Moderate webinars user's groups and panel discussions, deliver presentations, represent Rockwell Automation in industry associations, create original thought leadership through blogs, interviews and articles for trade publications

6. Return on investment Analysis: Analyze the effectiveness of both commercial and marketing programs, ensuring that they achieve according to goals.

9. Matrix Team Leadership: Work with a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance to our group, building strategic framework and messaging to support Hybrid industries integrated campaigns.

10. Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates on industry marketing performance and commercial metrics to marketing, sales, and executive leadership.

11. Business Case Development: Perform financial/revenue analysis needed to formulate business cases and support our annual industry strategy review cycles. Support revenue vs. cost detailed analysis. Create ramp to volume, business estimates to support business case presentation.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degreeBachelor of Engineering degree required, Master's preferred in process engineering, manufacturing, or automation engineering
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visa, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Master's Degree preferred in business, process engineering, manufacturing, or automation engineering
  • 8+ years of experience with consulting, business development or strategic marketing in Hybrid industries manufacturing is desirable.
  • Direct experience or expertise in LS manufacturing automation and digital transformation, at a Pharma, OEM, or other partner. Preferably, you have either worked directly in this domain, or within strategic function targeting this domain.
  • A broad skill set within LS manufacturing and GTM strategy development, data analytics is desirable
  • Need the ability to provide leadership in a matrixed company structure.
  • Experience using online tools, analytics dashboards and creating charts to support marketing planning and track commercial results is desirable
  • Sales or implementation experience with LS automation/digital transformation maybe desirable
