We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to grow our platform partnerships. You will be responsible for securing and managing large, strategic one-to-many Partnerships to drive GMV, Revenue, and Merchant Acquisition. As an individual contributor on our expanding Strategic Partnerships team, you will focus on signing and scaling our largest Strategic Partnerships in collaboration with Affirm’s cross functional teams. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced strategic thinker and self-starter who is eager to learn, comfortable with ambiguity, and thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. You are comfortable working across various internal and external partner teams and can autonomously drive strategic solutions for Affirm and its partners. This role involves managing complex deal cycles, GTM and partner enablement, forecasting, and driving Affirm adoption through platforms. Your work will directly impact top-priority, company-wide goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead large strategic deals for Affirm by developing comprehensive, competitive proposals that drive new business opportunities with platforms to enable partner growth and achieve/exceed goals

  • Identify and target a list of key strategic platform partners, lead negotiations and related contract terms, and sign mutually beneficial one to many platform partnerships deals 

  • Work across various internal and external cross functional teams to create and execute against compelling commercial and technical partnership frameworks

  • Launch, scale, and grow signed partners via active partner management and in collaboration with internal and external XFN teams

  • Manage and be responsible for developing and driving strategic initiatives to accelerate business growth with signed partners 

  • Manage platform pipeline development, develop standardized deal and partner management process and stay organized across internal systems

What We Look For:

  • Self starter with 7+ years of business development, enterprise sales or partnerships experience on high-performing sales or partnerships teams

  • Experience in managing and closing cross-functional deal cycles with a high attention to detail. Ability to navigate complex negotiations, with an emphasis on driving partner value

  • Successful track record in providing a point of view and thought leadership in platform space, identifying key partner prospects and converting them into partner revenue streams

  • Prior success building strong relationships with decision makers and C-level executives, in large complex organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to over-achieve quotas (top 10-20% of company) in past positions through complex deal cycles

  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing (proposals, memos, e-mail), strategic and structured thinking, organization and project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently

  • Ability to craft compelling value propositions, deliver persuasive presentations, collaborate and drive engagement with stakeholders to achieve business objectives (internally and externally)

  • Fast learner who seeks out new opportunities, drives progress, and navigates ambiguity

  • Knowledge of payments, consumer finance offerings, integrated software solutions, and/or willingness to learn 

Base Pay Grade - K
Equity Grade - 6
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. 
Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, which includes the annual base pay and the sales incentive target.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA On Target Earnings (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $210,000 - $285,000
USA On Target Earnings (all other U.S. states) per year: $186,000 - $261,000
