What We Do:
The Payscale Renewals team is the engine behind customer retention and durable revenue growth. We partner closely with Customer Success and our go-to-market teams to protect recurring revenue and ensure every renewal reflects the value Payscale delivers. As a Strategic Renewals Manager, you'll own our largest and most complex renewals -- often with Fortune 500 to 1000 organizations -- where success depends on disciplined process execution and the ability to navigate formal procurement and vendor-management cycles from start to close.
What You'll Do:
Own the full renewal lifecycle for a portfolio of strategic, high-value accounts, from early risk assessment through negotiation and close, consistently meeting or exceeding retention and expansion targets
Navigate complex, procurement-led buying processes with Fortune 500 to 1000 organizations, managing RFPs, vendor reviews, security and compliance requests, and multi-stakeholder approval cycles to closure
Lead complex commercial negotiations and structure multi-year, multi-product agreements in coordination with Deal Desk, Legal, Finance, and customer procurement teams
Run a disciplined, repeatable renewal process, including accurate forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and on-time execution across a demanding book of strategic accounts
Proactively manage renewal risk, developing and executing save strategies for at-risk accounts before they reach the point of escalation
Partner with Customer Success and Account Management to surface upsell, cross-sell, and resizing opportunities, and maintain accurate records and insights in Salesforce
We'd love to talk with you if you have:
7+ years of experience in renewals, account management, or customer success, with a focus on enterprise or strategic accounts
A proven track record of meeting or exceeding retention and expansion targets in a SaaS or subscription business
Demonstrated success navigating formal procurement, vendor management, and multi-stakeholder buying processes, ideally with Fortune 500 to 1000 organizations
Strong commercial negotiation skills and confidence structuring multi-year, multi-product agreements
A process-driven approach with strong forecasting discipline and pipeline hygiene
Proficiency with Salesforce (or a comparable CRM) and comfort using data to drive decisions
Comfort in a role where success is driven as much by disciplined process execution and procurement engagement as by relationship building
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate value and ROI across both business and procurement stakeholders
You will report to John Heintschel - Manager, Renewals.
Internally, this job is titled as Strategic Renewals Manager.
Nice to Have:
Experience renewing or selling into HR, Total Rewards, Compensation, or Finance buyers
Background in HR tech, compensation, or data/SaaS solutions
Direct experience working through the procurement and vendor-management functions of large enterprises
Familiarity with tools like Gainsight, Gong, or similar customer success and revenue intelligence platforms
The chance to own the accounts that matter most, with real autonomy, executive visibility, and the support of a collaborative team that treats retention as a growth engine, not a back-office function
