Role/ Department: Strategist, Financial Advisor Client Marketing/Asset Management Marketing
It is an exciting time to join Northern Trust Asset Management, as we are investing to drive innovation and growth – with marketing playing a critical role. 

Northern Trust Asset Management is seeking a dynamic Strategist to act as a team lead for our Financial Advisor Client Marketing team. Reporting to the Head of Client Marketing, this role will act as a player/coach within the team and as an active business partner to this channel leaders as they proactively lead the development, direction and execution of the campaigns and tactics within the overall marketing and communications strategy for the channel as they position and promote our asset management capabilities. The ultimate objective of the role is to drive engagement with financial advisors and greater awareness and adoption of our investment products and capabilities and the Northern Trust Asset Management brand.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial advisor investor behavior, investment products and solutions, and the advisor landscape and nuances of sub-segments (wire house, RIA, IBD, bank, etc.) with a passion for turning insights into results-driven marketing initiatives. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that works across sales, product, and content teams to drive growth, differentiation, and client impact.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
• Acts as a functional team lead for financial advisor marketing, providing strategic direction, prioritization recommendations, guidance and partnering with the Head of Client Marketing to mentor team member development of these skills, encourage effective cross-team collaboration and efficiencies in plan execution.
• Create and lead integrated marketing campaigns that support revenue and business goals for the financial advisor channels, ensuring alignment with business and sales priorities.
• Writes campaign briefs and manages development of campaign tactics across paid and owned media promotion to support campaign awareness, consideration and lead generation goals, optimizing based on results.
• Translate client and market insights/needs into actionable strategies across multi-channel platforms, using data/feedback to tailor messaging and prioritize outreach.
• Partner with the content team to execute thought leadership strategy in close collaboration with sales, product and investment stakeholders, ensuring all messaging supports advisor engagement and business development goals
• Maintain sales enablement collateral targeting key advisors, ensuring relevance and strategy alignment.
• Build and manage email and webinar campaigns in marketing platforms (i.e., Marketo, On24) and coordinate dissemination across relevant platforms to ensure timely and effective campaign delivery to target audiences.
• Execute project planning, milestone tracking, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely and efficient delivery of marketing initiatives on time.
• Deliver campaign performance reporting and data-driven analysis to optimize strategy, drive accountability, and demonstrate ROI.
• Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring timely execution, cross-functional alignment, and clear communication across stakeholders.
• Drive measurable impact from initiatives by focusing on lead generation, pipeline influence, and channel-specific engagement across digital platforms, content creation, and client events.
• Proactively generate new marketing ideas to elevate Northern Trust's Asset Management presence and relevance with advisors, home offices and key decision-makers.
• Actively participate in and contribute to the development of the annual client marketing plan.
• Proactively lead ongoing business partner communications surrounding marketing campaign rollout, implementation and results, in partnership with Integrated Campaign Strategy team members.
• Develop and maintain broad knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, and industry developments specific to the financial advisor market.
• Conducts complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
• Participates in and collaborates with cross functional working teams, including Senior Leaders, with the ability to navigate and execute effectively across various levels of seniority.

Skills/Qualifications:
• 7-10+ years of experience with a focus on financial advisor marketing.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment solutions, and the needs of high-net-worth/ultra-high-net-worth individuals and financial advisors.
• Strong understanding of the advisor sales process and nuances of intermediary third party distribution channels including Wealth advisors, RIAs, wire house, regional broker dealer, independent and bank channels.
• Proven experience managing or supporting cross-functional marketing projects, which provide measurable results, from planning through execution, with a strong attention to timelines and detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Superior promotional and technical writing skills, with the proven ability to write thought provoking headlines and compelling promotional copy that drives engagement, which can be applied flexibly to promotional asset, collateral development or advertising headline copy writing as needed.
• Experience managing and optimizing content across professional social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn), with a strong understanding of tone, timing, and audience engagement strategies.
• Proficiency with marketing technology such as Salesforce, Eloqua, Marketo, On24, and content management platforms is highly desirable.
• Successful experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, with a proven ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively.
• Superior people skills - including the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization across various marketing and business functional teams, with the ability to influence senior partners being critical.
• Results-driven individual with excellent organizational and planning skills 
• Strong attention to detail and delivers a work product that requires minimal revision.
• Driven, self-motivated, high-performing, commercial mindset
• Able to facilitate discussions, problem solve and reach decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, communications or a related area of study.

Working Model: Hybrid (#LI-Hybrid)

Salary Range:

$114,700 - 194,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
