Our Vision:

NationSwell is a one-of-a-kind executive membership community and advisory firm for mission-driven leaders and their organizations. Our Institutional Membership (IM) is an invitation-only program for leading companies, philanthropies, and investment firms. It is designed to help leaders advance their work in social impact, sustainability, philanthropy, and purpose-driven culture. The NationSwell Studio works with leaders in the impact space to create transformative social impact strategies, provide in-depth research and insights, engage key audiences, and more.

The Opportunity:

The Strategist, Impact Intelligence sits at the center of NationSwell’s insight engine. This role is responsible for turning various information signals—member input, research, news, and internal learnings—into usable intelligence that informs decisions, strengthens our member product offerings, and helps our team stay ahead of a fast-moving social impact landscape.

Reporting to the Senior Research Manager, the Strategist, Impact Intelligence helps power NationSwell’s proprietary knowledge stack: tracking what’s happening in the field, making sense of it, and ensuring insights are translated into compelling content and programming agendas, member products and services, and internal tools. This role blends analysis, synthesis, and systems thinking—and is ideal for someone who likes connecting dots, improving workflows, and making organizations smarter over time.

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000.

Core Responsibilities:

Research and Member Deliverables

  • Track trends, new research, media activity, policy shifts, and field dynamics across corporate social impact, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector
  • Perform research, synthesis, and analysis to power NationSwell’s market-facing intelligence product portfolio, like quarterly trend reports, Impact Pulse newsletter, and member surveys
  • Execute custom research sprints for NationSwell members, including desk research, analysis, and report writing
  • Monitor peer and competitor activity to support NationSwell’s ongoing product and value differentiation

Internal Knowledge and Process Management

  • Manage Airtable and Salesforce project and knowledge management systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and grow NationSwell’s internal “knowledge hub”, ensuring content is well organized, intuitively accessible, and usable across a range of applications
  • Manage workflows and processes that regularly gather insights from NationSwell member engagement data, events, surveys, and internal team members to support programming and content agenda-setting for the organization
  • Coordinate internal reporting, analysis, and evaluation processes that enable continuous learning and improvement on the NationSwell Insights team

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in research, intelligence, strategy, consulting, policy, or social impact
  • Social impact familiarity; experience in the social impact ecosystem strongly preferred
  • Research fluency; Experience conducting qualitative and desk research, with the judgment to know what’s likely to support action and applicability for end users
  • Strong synthesis skills; Able to distill large volumes of information into clear insights, patterns, and implications
  • Writing skills; Writes clearly and directly; prioritizes clarity, concision, and usefulness
  • Analytical and systems-oriented; Comfortable designing lightweight and “sticky” processes and knowledge systems
  • Collaborative mindset; High degree of comfort working across teams and translating insights for different audiences
  • Adaptability; Takes feedback well and adapts quickly; looks around the corner for new solutions
  • Curiosity and judgement; Asks good questions and understands what information actually matters
  • Highly organized and independent; Capable of independently managing recurring processes, keeping systems up to date, and moving quickly without sacrificing rigor
How to Apply:

To be considered for this opportunity, please submit your resume and a cover letter clearly articulating your relevant experience and interest in the role. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Candidates can be based anywhere in the United States. This position is remote, with occasional travel required for in-person meetings and events.
