About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

As the Senior Manager of Data Analytics and Engineering, you will lead the team that forms the backbone of our data-driven operations. You will be responsible for the entire data lifecycle, from building robust and scalable data pipelines to delivering actionable insights through powerful analytics and business intelligence. This is a people-leader role focused on managing and mentoring a team of 6+ data engineers and analysts. Your primary mission is to ensure the availability, quality, and reliability of our data assets, empowering teams across the company—including Data Science, Account Success, and Strategy—to make critical business decisions with confidence.

Your Impact
  • Lead a Foundational Technical Team: Manage, coach, and develop a team of 6+ data engineers, analysts and Visualizers, promoting technical excellence and fostering their professional growth.

  • Drive the Data Infrastructure Roadmap: Own the strategic vision for data curation and analytics. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing our data infrastructure for greater scalability.

  • Oversee Data Engineering and Warehousing: Guide the team in creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture. This includes the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources using SQL and other technologies. You will oversee the assembly of large, complex data sets to meet business requirements.

  • Deliver Actionable Business Intelligence: Lead the analytics function to translate business needs into dashboards, reports, and analyses. You will work with internal customers to understand their needs and deliver insights that drive strategic decisions.

  • Champion Data Governance and Quality: Establish and enforce best practices for data management, governance, and quality assurance. Ensure that data is both accurate and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Foster Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the central point of contact for data infrastructure and business analytics. You will collaborate closely with the Data Science team (who are key customers of your team's work), product managers, and business leaders to ensure the data ecosystem meets their evolving needs.

Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in a data engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics role.

  • 3+ years of direct people management experience with a proven ability to lead technical teams of engineers and analysts.

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and deep experience with data warehousing concepts.

  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines and managing complex datasets.

  • Highly technical with experience in scripting languages like Python.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with and manage projects for a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience managing teams in a B2B or SaaS environment, particularly those supporting Customer Success or growth functions.

  • Deep familiarity with the Salesforce platform, its data architecture, and its reporting/analytics tools.

  • Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Einstein Analytics, Power BI).

  • A track record of scaling data infrastructure and teams to meet the demands of a growing business.

Note: This role is office-flexible, and the expectation is to be in office three days per week (Chicago OR Indianapolis OR Atlanta).
