Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Supply Planner. Reporting to the Sr. Director, SIOP & Pricing Strategy, this person will be responsible for forecasting and production planning for our Harvey, IL, Hobart, IN, and Kokomo, IN manufacturing plants. This person will use analytical, marketing, and sales data to effectively estimate future product demand, plan inventory flow, analyze statistical data, and generate accurate forecasts.

The ideal candidate will have minimum of 3+ years of professional experience and preference with experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or supply chain management.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage monthly SIOP forecast consensus process; drive SIOP process improvements to reduce forecast error.
  • Develop and deliver accurate monthly production schedules to plant management.
  • Supply production forecasts to the supply chain teams ensuring raw material deliveries are aligned to plant production schedules.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly tracking of delivery metrics to ensure strong customer service.
  • Manage inventory levels to achieve working capital goals and reduce inventory levels; SKU rationalization projects.
  • Work closely with customer service and sales teams to plan and win large project-based orders.
  • Continuously looking for lean opportunities to improve current toolset and streamlining processes.
  • Creating standard work documents for procedures and responsibilities.
  • Identify opportunities to meet customer demand during constrained supply.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or other relevant field or 4-8 years' relevant working experience, as an equivalency
  • 3 or more years of experience in Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP), Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Inventory Management, preferably in a manufacturing setting; (B2B) – Electrical or Mechanical Industries, preferred. 
  • Experience with process improvements and/or system solutions with end-to-end value chain analysis, preferred. 
  • Solid understanding with hands on experience using ERP systems JDE and/or SAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel with VBA experience.
  • Strong preference given to Six Sigma or Lean experience in manufacturing or operational roles.
  • Position Success Criteria:
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Strong continuous improvement mindset with a can-do attitude.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
    • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
    • Strong mathematics background with excellent analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program: includes learning our culture, values, strategic initiatives, and systems.  You will also meet with team members and internal stakeholders with the goal of learning and building connections.
  • Understand your role within the organization, processes and tools
  • Use your inquisitive mind to learn the “whys” associated with current practices
  • Spend time training with SMEs, as well as self-directed learning

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Deepen understanding of processes and tools
  • Work towards established performance and development goals
  • Identify opportunities for improvement

Within 12 months, you’ll:

  • Fully own your processes and tools
  • Troubleshoot issues and work towards effective and efficient resolution; fully support stakeholders as needed
  • Drive results and achieve established goals
  • Action improvements

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $64,960 - $89,320. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time.  Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
