Reporting onto the VP Sustainability the Sustainability Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering sustainability expertise within Finlays Solutions global supply chain. 

As a subject matter expert, the Sustainability Manager provides advice and guidance to implement supply chain sustainability through the SRM program in the sustainable supply pillar. The Sustainability Manager will also be responsible for working directly with the US, UK and Kenyan business to ensure the sustainability strategy is effectively embedded and implemented. This will be achieved by providing a business partner relationship across the Solutions business 

The Sustainability Manager works collaboratively with internal functions and will be comfortable working with global stakeholders at all levels. They will be a champion of our sustainability strategy across supply chain, human rights and environment and inspire and support colleagues, suppliers and customers to drive our sustainability ambitions.

Key Responsibilities – Sustainability

  • Leading and delivering supplier sustainability aspects of SRM onboarding and performance management
  • Supporting sustainability traceability requirements work functionally with Supply chain and quality to meet customer traceability requirements 
  • Developing resources and delivery of training and capacity building across supply chain, quality and procurement teams
  • Participating in supplier engagement activities: visits, audits, reviews, training etc. 
  • Provides ongoing input to further the development of the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program
  • Supports timely customer engagement on sustainability via meetings, presentations, completing questionnaires and survey responses
  • SME for Sustainability assurance and compliance matter
  • Supports internal engagement and sustainability training, working groups, functions, employees, suppliers and customer
  • Completes and coordinates reporting responsibilities across the pillars for the USA Sites
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or above. Ideally with an MSc or bachelor’s degree in science, social science, Agro-Science, or a Sustainability / Environment related discipline
  • Strong supplier and supply chain management experience including sourcing and procurement related activities.
  • Experience of developing supplier management programs, standards, and risk training in environmental and human rights areas
  • Strong cross-functional project and program management experience
  • Proven understanding of risk management approaches within business and application to value chain
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. This includes being comfortable presenting to working groups and key stakeholders
  • Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex and /or unfamiliar data sets
  • Good commercial and financial acumen with the ability to convey the financial and commercial benefits of sustainability
  • Good IT and Systems experience, specifically in relation to reporting and data management tools. This includes intermediate Excel skills and reporting systems and supply chain management tools
