Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Test Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.
This position is responsible for:
  • Developing test requirements, test plans, test procedures, and evaluation techniques to support system integration and requirements verification
  • Understanding interface design documents and deriving test tolerances and test methodologies
  • Supporting on-site System-Level Testing, data collection, data analysis, and documentation
  • Tracking and solving test anomalies and preparing associated test analysis reports
  • Working collaboratively in a team setting with other engineering team members

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typical education and related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or other related science, engineering or technical degree and at least four years of related/relevant work experience OR at least eight years of SSBN SWS experience in lieu of a degree.
Additional skills/experience required:
  • Ability to work and communicate well with management, customers, and their contractors - including ability to provide clear and concise presentation/demonstration of advanced technical concepts
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to interpret and follow requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with colleagues, and customers
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and make sound decisions while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Good planning, time management, and organization skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • 6 - 8 years of relevant professional experience
    • Active DoD SECRET security clearance
    • Current D-5 TRIDENT SWS Technical / Operational Knowledge
    • SSBN Missile Technician or Navigation Electronics Technician with TRIDENT II SWS/SWSSS deployed experience
    • Working knowledge of the Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) organization
    • Experience working within the SSP Test Program
    • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Digital Engineering (DE) experience
    • Knowledge of CAD/CAM/3D Modeling

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
