Our curious, exceptional people are at the heart of our evolution. They turn new challenges and disruptive technologies into opportunities to refine our operations, expand our offering, and deliver a better experience for every customer.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Recruiting at McMaster‑Carr is evolving quickly. We’re investing in better systems, cleaner data, and more effective tools to support higher‑quality hiring decisions and continue to bring exceptional people into the company.
As a Talent Analytics & Systems Analyst, you’ll strengthen the operational backbone of our recruiting function. Your work will help keep our data clean and reliable, our platforms optimized and easy to use, and our insights sharp to help the team make clear, confident decisions. By bringing together analytical rigor, technical fluency, and hands‑on experience with full‑cycle recruiting, you’ll help elevate how we source, evaluate, and hire talent across the business.
This role integrates talent analytics, recruiting technologies management, and data governance to ensure our hiring systems are accurate, effective, and insight‑driven. Your work will equip recruiters and interviewers with the clarity, tools, and context they need to deliver an exceptional candidate experience and drive meaningful hiring outcomes.

What You’ll Do

As a Talent Analytics & Systems Analyst, you will:

Talent Analytics & Insights
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring leaders to clarify critical hiring questions and deliver data‑driven insights that inform and strengthen hiring decisions.
  • Build, maintain, and refine dashboards and reporting that surface the metrics that matter—quality of hire, funnel strength, channel effectiveness, and more.
  • Analyze recruiting workflows to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve decision quality and process clarity.
  • Use SQL, Python, Excel, and modern AI/LLM tools to automate recurring analyses and uncover patterns in candidate, pipeline, and process data.
ATS, Data Hygiene, & Platform Management
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Greenhouse and our broader recruiting tech stack, managing workflows, permissions, templates, job setup, and integrations.
  • Audit data quality across the ATS and CRM, surface accuracy or consistency issues, and work with partners to strengthen the structures and practices that keep our data clean.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, resolve data accuracy errors, and maintain a structured, reliable foundation for high‑quality reporting and evaluation.
  • Manage vendor relationships, optimize recruiting platforms, including Metaview, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Handshake, and support strong, effective use across the team.
  • Partner with Recruiting Operations and cross‑functional teams to evaluate workflows and strengthen how platforms support clarity, consistency, and high‑quality hiring decisions.
Experimentation & AI Integration
  • Evaluate emerging AI, analytics, and sourcing tools; design experiments to test their value; and recommend scalable practices.
  • Build lightweight documentation and shareable workflows that help the recruiting team use tools effectively.
  • Use LLMs and automation to streamline repetitive tasks, enhance data quality, and support clearer, more consistent hiring decisions.
Who You Are

You combine analytical strength with a deep understanding of the talent acquisition lifecycle. You’re energized by solving operational problems, making tools work better for people, and turning messy data into actionable insights. You’re the sort of person who sees gaps in clarity, structure, or data quality and immediately begins thinking about how to fix them—not just once, but permanently.
You are:

  • A systems thinker who understands how workflows, data structures, and tools intersect.
  • A self‑driven learner who quickly absorbs new technologies and analytical approaches. You’re comfortable diving into the unknown and figuring things out with curiosity and discipline.
  • An experienced recruiter or recruiting operator with hands‑on time in an ATS/CRM as a full‑cycle recruiter.
  • Technically curious, with meaningful experience using SQL, Python, and modern AI tools.
  • Detail‑oriented, especially when it comes to data integrity and process accuracy.
  • A collaborator who enjoys partnering with recruiters, operations teammates, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Resourceful and experimental, skilled at testing new tools, spotting patterns in data, and using those insights to strengthen how the team works.

Experience with Greenhouse is a strong plus.
If you love the idea of elevating the systems, insights, and tools that support high‑quality hiring, this role offers a unique opportunity to have a meaningful and lasting impact.
