TBM Planning Manager / Senior Manager

We are hiring a TBM (Technology Business Management) Planning Manager / Senior Manager to join our Enterprise Strategy and Technology Planning function. This role serves as the finance leader supporting a $200M+ technology portfolio, owning consolidated budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance across multiple technology domains. As a trusted advisor to senior technology leadership, this individual drives financial standardization across infrastructure, applications, data, security, M&A and strategy technology portfolios — ensuring that forecasts reflect operational reality, risks are surfaced early, and investment decisions are financially sound.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IT financial planning, financial reporting consolidation, and executive-level financial storytelling, combined with a proven ability to lead and develop finance talent. This role requires a strategic thinker who can operate across organizational boundaries, influence senior leaders, and build scalable finance processes that elevate the entire IT finance function.

In This Role, You'll Get To:

  • Own the consolidated annual budget and rolling forecast across $200M+ in technology spend, integrating inputs across multiple technology domains
  • Deliver consolidated variance analysis with clear drivers and forward-looking outlook
  • Provide multi-year financial views and scenario models aligned to IT strategy, transformation roadmaps, cost reduction, investment reprioritization, and workforce changes
  • Lead financial reviews, outlook discussions, and investment trade-off decisions with senior IT leadership
  • Oversee expense management, run-rate analysis, and trend identification to enable data-driven decision-making across the technology organization
  • Ensure financial controls and discipline across technology investments
  • Partner with procurement, TBM platform team, technology leadership, supplier financial governance, and corporate FP&A to ensure financial alignment, transparency, and disciplined IT spend management
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to enhance transparency into their technology spend and support the development of a comprehensive total cost of ownership (TCO) view for each line of business
  • Coach, mentor, and develop TBM planning analysts across budgeting, forecasting, and reporting disciplines
  • Establish and continuously improve end-to-end IT finance processes, driving forecast discipline, accountability, and standardization across portfolios
  • Foster an environment that promotes trust, continuous improvement, innovation, quality outcomes, and professional development

We Are Looking for Someone with the Following Competencies:

  • IT Financial Planning & Analysis – Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling at scale. Ability to synthesize inputs across multiple domains into a coherent, trusted financial picture
  • Executive Communication & Influence – Strong executive presence with the ability to lead financial reviews, articulate risks and trade-offs, and present decision-ready insights to senior technology and finance leadership
  • TBM & Financial Platforms – Experience with Apptio/TBM frameworks and tools, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and reporting/visualization tools.
  • People Leadership & Development – Track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing finance professionals. Builds team capability, confidence, and ownership across planning and reporting disciplines
  • Process Optimization & Governance – Track record of building scalable, repeatable finance processes and governance standards. Drives standardization, automation, and continuous improvement to elevate financial discipline

Required Experience:

  • 7–12+ years of professional experience in IT Finance, FP&A, or Strategic Finance
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated development and coaching capabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related fields (required)
  • Experience supporting or consolidating large IT portfolios ($150M+ preferred)
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management capability
  • Proven experience leading financial planning cycles and consolidation processes
  • Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and reporting tools
  • Apptio/Technology Business Management (TBM) exposure strongly preferred
  • Advanced certifications (MBA, CPA, TBM Certified Professional) a plus
