About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead to manage a team of Account Executives. This team plays a critical role in assisting applicants who have been declined from primary credit criteria or are not a fit for OnDeck. The team's mission is to direct these applications to our marketplace partners to secure appropriate business financing solutions.The primary focus of this leadership role is to drive team performance through comprehensive coaching, targeted training, strategic goal setting, ensuring a great customer experience, and improving operational efficiency to successfully achieve organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Goal Setting & Operations
- Establish, track, and manage shared team goals to ensure objective achievement.
- Define and communicate daily/weekly team priorities.
- Actively manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
- Team Development & Coaching
- Mentor team members to foster professional growth.
- Execute weekly 1:1 sessions and deal reviews.
- Provide real-time feedback on call, email, and workflow performance.
- Partner with the internal training/enablement team to continuously improve onboarding and ongoing AE development.
- Performance Management & Analysis
- Own and analyze weekly team performance.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including funnel metrics, cadence adherence, and Net Promoter Score (NPS)/Customer Experience (CX) metrics.
- Leverage performance analysis to focus the team on high-impact segments.
- Provide feedback to leadership regarding observed patterns in marketplace lender performance, opportunity trends, and borrower experience.
- Oversee and manage Salesforce & MicroStrategy reports to appropriately manage all opportunities.
- Culture & Customer Experience
- Model a customer-first mindset that effectively balances conversion goals with long-term brand trust.
- Foster a high-ownership, collaborative culture where Account Executives share best practices and learn from each other.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience managing a sales team.
- Required in-office presence Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
- Proven consultative and solution prospecting/selling knowledge.
- High proficiency in technology (CRM, Excel, LinkedIn, Sales Automation Tools) with the ability to train others.
- Ability to excel in a high-energy, monthly results-driven sales culture.
- A collaborative team player focused on continuously improving organizational processes.
- Experience working with senior-level executives and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Considerable interpersonal skills are mandatory, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Strong analytical skills.
Compensation:
The budgeted annual base salary for this position is $68,00 to $94,000. Actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the range shown.This role qualifies for additional compensation through a performance-based incentive plan. The On-Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary, target bonus performance at 100% attainment, and long term incentive in the form of restricted stock units, is $140,000 to $166,000 annually. Please note that incentive compensation is not guaranteed and is dependent on achieving defined performance metrics.
