Overview of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead – Android to architect and build scalable, high-performance Android mobile applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in Kotlin, deep understanding of Android architecture, and the ability to guide technical decisions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote setup.

Contract Duration: 12 Months
Work Mode: Fully Remote (US-based candidates only)

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, and develop robust Android applications using Kotlin
  • Lead technical design discussions and enforce best practices for performance, scalability, and security
  • Drive end-to-end ownership of Android features—from design to deployment
  • Review code, mentor developers, and ensure high engineering standards
  • Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and reliability
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and QA teams
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide long-term technical solutions
  • Ensure compliance with Android platform guidelines and release processes
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of mobile application development experience with 5+ years in Android
  • Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android SDK
  • Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party integrations
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, memory management, and debugging
  • Experience leading or mentoring Android developers
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration across US time zones
  • Experience with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Room, Navigation) (nice to have)
  • Exposure to large-scale consumer or enterprise mobile applications (nice to have)
  • Prior experience working in fully remote, contract-based roles (nice to have)
