Our culture is dynamic, smart, and spirited, and we are committed to solving critical problems for general contractors and project owners. Role Overview

The Solutions Engineer (SE) is a customer-facing role that combines strong construction scheduling knowledge with strong communication and technical aptitude.

This role is designed for experienced construction professionals who have built and managed project schedules and are comfortable explaining how work gets planned, sequenced, and executed. As a Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with Sales to help prospective customers understand how Planera fits into their existing scheduling and planning workflows.

This role does not require prior software sales experience. However, it does require strong construction and scheduling experience, comfort with modern software tools, and the ability to communicate effectively with construction professionals at all levels of an organization.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Hands-on experience building and managing project schedules

  • Background That is a Strong Fit

    • Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager

    • Superintendent with strong scheduling involvement

    • Construction operations roles with direct schedule ownership

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Primavera P6 (preferred)

    • Microsoft Project

    • Project sequencing and dependencies

    • How schedules are used to manage projects in practice

  • Strong technical aptitude and comfort learning new software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to engage effectively with construction professionals at all levels.

What You'll Do

Partner with Sales to support qualified opportunities from discovery through close. You'll lead technical conversations, deliver workflow-driven product demos, and help prospects connect their existing scheduling practices to Planera.

Core Responsibilities

  • Run discovery to understand how customers build and manage schedules today, including their use of P6, Microsoft Project, or Excel, and how scheduling connects to field execution

  • Deliver tailored demos to project managers, superintendents, schedulers, and operations leaders, adjusting for project type, audience role, and scheduling maturity.

  • Speak confidently to CPM concepts: logic, sequencing, constraints, calendars, lookaheads, and how Planera fits alongside or replaces existing tools

  • Lead follow-up technical conversations and deeper dives as needed throughout the sales cycle

  • Communicate clearly across all levels of a construction organization, from field leadership to executive stakeholders, without relying on unnecessary jargon

Work Environment and Travel
  • This is a fully remote role

  • Travel is expected to be limited, estimated at approximately 10–15%:

  • Travel expectations may vary based on business needs
