 Overview of the Role 

  • The Technology Manager for C.A. Fortune is a hands-on and outgoing technology leader responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable technology operations while driving key system enhancements and business initiatives. This role partners closely with business leaders across C.A. Fortune to translate operational needs into practical, well-executed technology solutions that support growth, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • This position owns day-to-day IT operations, serves as the primary project manager for technology initiatives, manages IT spend and vendor relationships, and manages the IT team (2 direct reports) supporting C.A. Fortune. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing operational details and leading larger initiatives that modernize systems, improve user experience, and strengthen security. 
  • Location: Chicago, IL, will observe a hybrid schedule in office 3 days a week
  • Salary: $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience, qualifications, and skills.
  • Travel: Limited; occasional travel may be required for office or project needs.

 What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune 

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring availability, performance, and security of all systems, platforms, and end-user technology. 
  • Serve as the primary project manager for IT system enhancements, implementations, and upgrades across C.A. Fortune, from planning through execution and post-launch support. 
  • Lead and manage the C.A. Fortune IT team, including workload prioritization, coaching, performance management, and professional development. 
  • Own IT expense management and procurement, ensuring cost-effective use of technology resources and alignment with business priorities. 
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers, including contract review, renewals, and performance oversight. 
  • Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate technology needs, recommend solutions, and ensure successful adoption of tools and platforms. 
  • Ensure appropriate IT policies, standards, documentation, and best practices are maintained and followed. 
  • Communicate with leadership and end users on system status, initiatives, risks, and improvements. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support evolving business and technology needs. 

 What You Should Bring to the Table 

  • Demonstrated experience leading IT operations and technology initiatives in a modern, Microsoft-centric environment. 
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering system implementations and enhancements. 
  • Experience managing and developing an IT team, including setting priorities, providing technical guidance, and supporting career growth. 
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, and related collaboration and identity platforms. 
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure, networking, endpoint management, security controls, and cloud-based services. 
  • Experience managing IT budgets, expenses, licensing, and vendor relationships. 
  • Ability to balance hands-on problem solving with strategic planning and stakeholder communication. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business context. 

 You Will Stand Out If You Have 

  • Experience supporting data platforms, integrations, or analytics tools (e.g., SharePoint, Snowflake, SQL-based systems, or BI solutions). 
  • Experience supporting Salesforce, ERP, or line-of-business applications in a sales, marketing, or consumer goods organization. 
  • Deep experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including site architecture, permissions, metadata, document libraries, and lifecycle management. 
  • Experience leading the evolution of document management practices, including governance, version control, information architecture, and user adoption across a growing organization. 
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with the ability to adapt quickly to new priorities, technologies, and business needs.
