Manages terminal operations, drivers, personnel, safety compliance, customer relationships, asset utilization, and financial performance. Monitors driver hours of service and regulatory compliance, supervises incident-free deliveries, develops staff, forecasts performance, implements corrective actions, and supports regional customer growth.
Position Summary
This position is accountable for the operation, personnel management, and the service to customers within a specified geographic region.
Essential Functions
- Promote and develop safe work behaviors in line with the companys safety programs and objectives
- Monitor hours of service for drivers; maintain compliance with all company and government regulations and policies
- Supervise performance of drivers to achieve incident free deliveries of every load
- Lead, manage, evaluate, and develop staff personnel
- Forecast terminal performance; evaluate performance and take corrective action to meet expense and financial forecast
- Engage local customers regularly to drive growth and enhance relationships
- Ensure maximum asset utilization
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business related field or equivalent business experience in the transportation industry
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
