As a Trade Support Specialist at Gelber, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in Information Technology at a successful trading firm. You will work side by side with other talented individuals as the first line of defense for the firm. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, clear communication, and has a strong interest in growing their technical skillset. This position will report directly into the manager of Trade Support who reports directly into the Chief Operating Officer.

This position will require in person presence in our Chicago office located in River West right next to the Merchandise Mart and convenient to public transportation.  

This position will be second shift which is from 1.30-10pm central Sunday-Thursday. You will be required to work some holidays, due to when the exchanges open in other countries.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide first and second level support for all Gelber employees
  • Provide primary real-time monitoring and support for all trading software and secondary monitoring for technical infrastructure
  • Monitor all Gelber proprietary applications and systems
  • Communicating across the team as well as with all trading and internal desks, including technology, across the firm

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or related field with 0-2 years of work experience
  • General understanding of Windows and Linux
  • Basic SQL knowledge
  • Understanding of Python and Powershell are not required, but a huge plus
  • Strong critical thinking skills and sense of urgency when it comes to support
  • Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work second shift Sunday-Thursday from 1.30-10pm central

The approximate annual base compensation range for this position in Chicago, IL is $65,000 to $120,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; geographic location; and internal equity. In addition to your salary, our total rewards package includes health benefits, a 401(k) plan, PTO, parental leave, professional development, tuition reimbursement and discretionary bonus, enhancing your overall total rewards package.
