About the Role

The Traffic & Conversions Manager plays a critical, highly visible role in Claire’s business by maximizing the efficiency and profitability of our retail fleet. This position is directly responsible for analyzing and interpreting shopper traffic patterns to optimize in-store conversion rates. By leveraging foot traffic data from tools like ShopperTrak and sales data, this role provides the field and corporate partners with clear, actionable insights that maximize sales growth, enhance the customer experience, and ensure staffing alignment with demand. This position is a key partner to the Labor Planning team in realizing a customer-first staffing model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Traffic & Conversion Analysis:
    • Own and manage the analysis of all store traffic data (e.g., ShopperTrak) and in-store conversion metrics.
    • Develop and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports tracking key retail performance indicators (KPIs) such as Traffic, Conversion Rate, Units Per Transaction (UPT), and Average Transaction Value (ATV).
    • Identify performance gaps, traffic trends, and key opportunities to increase the rate at which shoppers are converted into buyers.
  • Field Execution & Conversion Coaching:
    • Serve as the central analyst, proactively reaching out to stores and District Managers regarding underperforming traffic and conversion metrics, diagnosing root causes, and providing immediate action plans.
    • Utilize traffic data (e.g., ShopperTrak data) to monitor store compliance with scheduled operating hours, flagging potential issues like late openings or early closings that negatively impact customer traffic and escalating these issues to the appropriate Field Leadership for immediate corrective action.
  • Strategic Insight & Corporate Advocacy:
    • Synthesize key store execution challenges, system issues, and performance roadblocks, bubbling up issues and concerns to Field Leadership and corporate management for broader resolution.
    • Collaborate closely with the Labor Forecasting Analyst to integrate traffic data into store labor models, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.
    • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to field and corporate leadership with a clear, concise, and solutions-first mindset.
  • Tools & System Management:
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for all traffic counting and conversion-related technologies, including the ShopperTrak platform.
    • Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reporting systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Analytics, or a related field (required).
  • 3+ years of experience in Retail Analytics, Store Operations, E-commerce, or similar experience focusing on traffic and conversion optimization.
  • Proven ability to translate data into action through regular in-field consultation; willingness to travel to stores to observe operational gaps, coach field leadership, and validate data insights.
  • Prior experience in a store leadership role (e.g., Store Manager, District Manager) or a field-facing corporate role is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with store traffic management/counting systems (e.g., ShopperTrak) and a deep understanding of retail KPIs.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and comfort working with large retail data sets.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and proactive problem solver.
