Position Overview

Storer Transportation is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Transport Coordinator to join our logistics and operations team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our fleet, clients, and internal management, ensuring safe, compliant, and highly efficient transport scheduling and dispatch operations.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels at solving logistical challenges in real time.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Coordination & Scheduling

  • Plan, adjust, and coordinate daily and weekly transportation routes and driver schedules to maximize efficiency.
  • Track active routes and shipments using fleet management and tracking software to ensure on-time performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drivers encountering transit delays, mechanical issues, or route deviations, implementing immediate contingency plans.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide professional, prompt updates to clients and partner organizations regarding trip status, delays, or schedule adjustments.
  • Maintain regular, clear communication with drivers to convey schedule modifications, safety alerts, and operational updates.
  • Partner closely with dispatch, maintenance, and human resources teams to align driver availability with fleet readiness.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety protocols, and company guidelines.
  • Maintain meticulous data entry and digital record-keeping of trip logs, performance metrics, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist management in gathering data for weekly or monthly operational performance and efficiency reports.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in transport coordination, dispatching, logistics, or fleet routing.
  • Proficient with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking platforms, and standard office software like Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of professional conflict resolution.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisive, logical choices under time constraints.
  • A dedicated, quiet home office setup with high-speed, reliable internet infrastructure.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with school bus transport, charter operations, or passenger transit logistics.
