Leidos is hiring an energetic, motivated, innovative individual to be a part of our team supporting Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore, MD. We are seeking a highly skilled Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale scheduling solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in TWS, experience integrating TWS in a cloud environment, and strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • TWS Administration & Configuration
    • Install, configure, and maintain Tivoli Workload Scheduler instances on AWS-based infrastructure.
    • Manage TWS agents, plan databases, job streams, and calendars to ensure optimal scheduling performance and reliability.
  • AWS Cloud Operations
    • Design and deploy TWS architecture in the cloud, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and other AWS services.
    • Ensure best practices for performance, high availability, scalability, and security across AWS resources.
    • Monitor cloud resources, manage cost optimization, and maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Automation & Orchestration
    • Develop, implement, and streamline batch job scheduling, triggering, and dependencies using TWS.
    • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to provision and manage TWS environments.
  • Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting
    • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in TWS and related AWS infrastructure.
    • Investigate and resolve scheduling conflicts, job failures, and integration issues to maintain seamless workflow operations.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement appropriate security controls in line with organizational and regulatory requirements (e.g., IAM policies, encryption, logging).
    • Collaborate with security teams to conduct regular audits and maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of TWS deployments, configurations, run books, and operational procedures.
    • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members to build internal expertise.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work cross-functionally with development teams, operations teams, and project managers to design and maintain robust scheduling solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to gather requirements, plan updates, and report on system performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and configuring Tivoli Workload Scheduler in an enterprise setting.
    • 2+ years of experience operating in AWS environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Technical Skills
    • Expert-level knowledge of TWS components, job creation, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation and integration tasks.
    • Hands-on experience with AWS services, monitoring, and provisioning tools.
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control, Infrastructure as Code).
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive prevention of issues.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) or serverless paradigms (Lambda).
  • Familiarity with other workload automation tools and enterprise scheduling solutions.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.

Pay Range:Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
