CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Services Representative. The Underwriting Services Representative assists the Underwriting division and new product launches, within defined guidelines, by managing the new business submission intake process and supporting midterm policy changes and renewals for all lines of business.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process new business submissions to include entering all risk and exposure information into rating system to develop base premium.
  • Complete Market Reservation, OFAC, and Experian checks.
  • Prep new business and renewal accounts, including file set-up, web searches, and entering loss information.
  • Execute endorsement, cancellation, and reinstatement triage and processing within defined Underwriting guidelines.
  • Process Broker of Service/Broker of Record requests.
  • Bind/issue new business payroll service submissions.
  • Process all other defined tasks associated with new products/or vertical launches.
  • Process auto and cargo filings.

Qualifications/Competencies: 

  • BS/BA college degree or equivalent work experience.  The knowledge and skill levels acquired through undergraduate-level studies, especially in the areas of risk management, business administration, or finance are a plus. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience with commercial lines insurance experience is considered a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan and organize.
  • Accountability and dependability.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Focuses on quality.

Benefits:

  • We provide some benefits at no cost to the employee (Basic Life Insurance and AD&D at two times an employee’s annual salary, Short- and Long-term Disability coverage, and Employee Assistance Plan).
  • Employees will accrue 0.0692 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 18 days a year. In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Salary Range:

  • $41,000.00 - $44,000.00 annually
  • Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
  • In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus
