Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

As the Value Stream Manager, you will lead the charge in creating a work environment that prioritizes the safety of all employees. At the same time, you will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and ensuring the consistent production of high-quality products that are delivered on time to customers within established cost targets.

The VSM reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for managing the manufacturing process of multiple value streams and shop floor supervisors. The VSM creates and facilitates standard work for the production coordinators as well as the shop floor in order to effectively utilize materials, labor, and equipment to meet the business plan while ensuring a safe work environment. This role is critical in ensuring efficient and effective production processes to meet customer demands while staying within established cost targets.

The Value Stream Manager:

  • Champions health and safety, environment, and 6S programs

  • Coordinates with Engineering and Quality to eliminate waste and improve process capability.

  • Uses continuous improvement tools and methodologies to troubleshoot recurring issues and eliminate root-cause process failures.

  • Assures availability of all resources necessary to operate the value stream, including adequate labor, technical and maintenance resources, and all other required direct support.

  • Coordinates with Production Control and associates to support schedule sequencing and proper schedule attainment.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Results-driven with a demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to motivate, communicate and lead continuous improvement.

  • Excellent analytical abilities.

  • Solid planning, organization, and administrative skills.

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • 3-5 Years of leadership experience required.

  • Experience managing other managers desired.

  • Greenbelt certification desired.

  • Manufacturing management experience, preferably in a team-based environment a plus.

  • Project management experience

  • Manufacturing shop floor & office environment
