As Vice President – Alternative Investments – Business Development, you will serve as a strategic partner to financial advisors, private banks, registered investment advisors, family offices, consultants, and institutional investors, helping them access compelling private market opportunities and navigate increasingly complex investment environments. Leveraging the firm’s capabilities across private equity, private credit, hedge funds, infrastructure, real assets, and real estate, you will originate new business opportunities, deepen new partnerships, and drive capital formation initiatives that support long-term franchise growth.
This role is remote or hybrid, with up to 40% domestic travel.
Description
- Lead capital formation, fundraising, and business development initiatives across alternative investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real assets, infrastructure, and real estate.
- Build and deepen relationships with financial advisors, private banks, RIAs, family offices, consultants, endowments, foundations, pension plans, and institutional investors.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by delivering tailored investment solutions, market insights, and portfolio construction perspectives aligned with client objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic distribution plans designed to expand market penetration, increase adoption of private market solutions, and drive asset growth.
- Lead investor meetings, due diligence discussions, fundraising presentations, and capital raising efforts across prospective and existing client relationships.
- Partner closely with investment, product, legal, compliance, operations, and marketing teams to support fund launches, product enhancements, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Drive advisor engagement through educational programs, thought leadership, industry insights, and consultative relationship management.
- Manage territory planning, pipeline development, prospecting initiatives, and CRM-driven business development activities.
- Support investor relations efforts, including investor communications, reporting coordination, fundraising updates, and ongoing relationship management.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, investor forums, client events, and strategic partner meetings.
- Maintain adherence to applicable regulatory and compliance requirements governing alternative investment fundraising and distribution activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Existing relationships across institutional investors, family offices, and HNW/UHNW.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or other advanced professional preferred.
- 6+ years of experience within institutional sales, alternative investments, asset management, private markets, or investment banking
- Demonstrated success raising capital and developing relationships with institutional investors, consultants, family offices, RIAs, private banks, or financial advisors.
- Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, hedge funds, infrastructure, real assets, and real estate.
- Experience supporting capital raising efforts for private funds, closed-end funds, evergreen vehicles, interval funds, private credit strategies, or similar alternative investment structures.
- Exceptional relationship management, presentation, communication, and business development skills.
- Experience working across investment, legal, compliance, operations, and marketing teams within a regulated environment.
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Pay & Benefits
The firm offers a highly competitive compensation structure designed to reward performance, commercial impact, and long-term growth. Base salary is expected to range from $180,000–$300,000, with significant upside potential through discretionary incentive compensation and performance-based equity awards. Total annual compensation may range from $750,000–$1 million+, depending on individual performance and overall business results.
Eligible employees may receive performance-based equity awards that vest upon achievement of defined company objectives and individual performance milestones.
