The VP, Chief of Staff, will partner closely with the leadership team to drive effective business management, and ensure execution of business priorities. VP, CoS serves as a delegate or lead representative to advise on results-based programs and initiatives for the business to advance strategic planning intentions. The VP, CoS partners with leadership to ensure successful initiation, development, and execution of both short-term and long-term strategic plans by utilizing project management tools, data analyses, and stakeholder feedback. The VP, CoS drives planning, execution, and implementation of critical, high-impact projects and key initiatives across the Pharmacy Services organization. The VP, CoS will help create consistency with processes, including implementing controls, decision processes, accountability, and financial discipline.

Major Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic advisor to the EVP & President, Pharmacy Services

  • Partner with EC leadership to initiate, develop, and execute both long and short-term strategic plans.

  • Ensure execution of management processes and follow up action items.

  • Provide an end-to-end overview of all Pharmacy Services related processes and functions to ensure alignment across all areas of the Enterprise and proactively anticipate problems/challenges to address them.

  • Manage critical Pharmacy Services projects and create success in complex projects to achieve implementation. 

  • Serve as a conduit to connect strategy to senior leadership and key stakeholders to optimize enablement and delivery of outcomes.

  • Proactively prepare senior leaders for engagements with key clients and strategic partners.

  • Oversee the development and communication of strategic plans and ensuring operational alignment to strategy for the business.

  • Support and/or lead monthly staff meetings, leadership team meetings, town-halls, and other meetings as requested by coordinating with Executive Assistant to set the agenda, coordinate materials/speakers, ensure presentations are ready, lead sessions and ensure follow-up on action items.

  • Prepare agendas, materials, speakers, and key talking points to ensure Pharmacy Services is appropriately represented in ELT, Board, and investor interactions.

  • Identify issues/gaps in processes or the organization, coordinate analysis and challenge self and others to develop and implement solutions. 

  • Drive change to improve performance results, organization effectiveness, and/or systems/quality/services (e.g., policies, processes, or systems). 

  • Ensure consistent, efficient, and cost-effective processes, procedures, and appropriate accountability.

  • Effectively manage organization resources (e.g., staff, budget).

Monroe, Chicago, IL - Hybrid (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday)

Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be an initiative-taker, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to the PSS organization, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:  

  • 10+ years leadership experience in any of these industries Healthcare/Finance/Management Consulting/Hospitality/Retail etc.

  • Experience with strategic-plan development 

  • Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks.

  • Experience with project management with high degree of complexity

  • Strong financial acumen, with budgetary development, oversight, and reporting experience

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization. 

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to synthesize vision, and deliver on concurrent initiatives.

Bachelors degree (required)

Pay Range 

The typical pay range for this role is: 

$250,000.00 - $350,000.00

 

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
