We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced engineering leader to join our senior leadership team as VP of Engineering. This role will focus on driving technical excellence, scalable product delivery, and embedding AI capabilities across our platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, demonstrated leadership of global engineering organizations, a passion for customer-centric innovation in CX assurance, and relevant hands-on experience with AI, platform architecture and SaaS product delivery at scale.
ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership & Delivery
Develop and implement the technology strategy that aligns with Cyara’s business goals and objectives.
Oversee all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, from product development, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, quality and operational excellence.
Lead, recruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineering teams (including software engineers, QA, AI/ML teams).
Ensure rigorous adoption of software engineering best practices (CI/CD, agile methodologies, observability, security, resilience).
Own the transition from AI-assisted to AI-native development practices, establishing the frameworks, tooling standards, and engineering culture that position the team to build faster and better with AI at the core.
Collaborate closely with product management, technical operations, customer success and sales to define product roadmaps and deliver on-time, on-budget, high-quality products.
Manage engineering budgets, resource forecasting, vendor/partner relationships, and continuous improvement of tools, processes and infrastructure.
AI/ML & Platform Innovation
Lead the platform development for AI: ensure scalable and secure LLM API capabilities, data pipelines, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, and cloud-native infrastructure.
Foster innovation: stay ahead of emerging AI technologies, frameworks, tools and platforms, and translate them into business-impacting solutions.
Establish governance, responsible AI practices (bias mitigation, ethics, model monitoring, data privacy/security) and metrics to measure ROI of AI initiatives.
Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI use cases, pilot proof-of-concepts, and scale successful solutions into production.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
Contribute to the company’s strategic vision and long-term planning in collaboration with the executive team.
Act as a senior engineering leader representing engineering in senior leadership meetings, ensuring alignment between business, product and engineering priorities.
Promote and uphold Cyara’s values and culture in the engineering organization by fostering inclusive, engaging, high-trust workplace environments.
Establish and track engineering metrics (velocity, quality, operational reliability, uptime, scalability, AI/ML model performance, ROI) and continuously drive improvement.
Manage vendor/partner ecosystems, architectural reviews, cloud cost optimization, technical due diligence for acquisitions or partnerships when required.
Communicate effectively across the organization, translating complex technical topics into business terms for audiences including senior leadership, investors or board.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master's or higher preferred.
15+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, including managing large, complex, SaaS or cloud-native engineering organizations.
Demonstrated track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams (50+ engineers, multi-discipline, global) and delivering complex software products reliably and at scale.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, DevOps, cloud architecture, microservices, distributed systems.
Proven experience with SaaS platforms, managing scalability, reliability, performance, multi-tenant systems, and global delivery.
AI/ML experience: you have built, deployed and scaled machine learning or generative AI systems into production; you understand model training, inference pipelines, MLOps, vector retrieval, embeddings, NLP, generative AI, etc.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, capable of aligning technology strategy with business outcomes, driving innovation, and delivering measurable ROI.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. You can influence senior stakeholders, partner across functions, and build a culture of excellence.
Familiarity with private equity‐backed companies or rapid growth environments is a plus.
Passion for customer-centric innovation and experience in customer experience / CX technology is preferred.
Experience with GenAI/LLM technologies (e.g., GPT, Llama, etc.), RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), vector databases, LangChain, LangSmith or similar frameworks.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and container/orchestrator technology (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience in a scale-up or growth stage environment, managing rapid change and transformation.
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational transformation, foster high trust cultures, champion DEIB in engineering, and lead through ambiguity.
Prior experience working with global engineering teams and remote/hybrid models.
Understanding of CX assurance, customer journey monitoring, chatbot testing or analogous domains is a plus.
