Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior leader to join the Cboe Data Vantage team as Vice President, Global Head of Market Data, based in our Chicago or New York City office. The ideal candidate will possess a deep background in business and product development within the financial services industry with an exclusive focus on market data distribution and trading.

This Vice President will own the full strategic direction and product development for the global market data portfolio, with complete accountability for managing and growing revenues for the business. In this role, the VP will serve as the senior global voice on behalf of the market data product portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial self-starter who embodies an innovative and creative business-focused mindset principled by integrity, compassion, and sound judgment. The individual will be highly intelligent, eager, personable, independent, exceptionally organized, and assertive - fully embracing a fast-paced, time-sensitive, complex, and intellectually rewarding financial and technological environment.

Business Management

  • Own and drive P&L, ROI, financial projections, pricing, and competitive analysis models based on extensive research, data, and industry trends to influence, formulate, and prioritize strategic decisions and direction.
  • Define and lead the market data product and commercial strategy that anticipates industry trends, technological advancements, and evolving client requirements.
  • Own the establishment of product delivery roadmaps, business development efforts, financial analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including market data providers, financial institutions, and technology partners.
  • Own financial forecasting, budget processes, revenue projections, and business trend analysis for the global market data business.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, performance metrics, and market insights to senior management and the Board as required.

Product Development

  • Lead thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities within market data.
  • Own the identification and assessment of new market data product ideas, market opportunities, and gaps - driving product roadmap development based on detailed analysis, research, customer feedback, and internal collaboration.
  • Define and implement a comprehensive market data product strategy fully aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development of new products and the enhancement of existing ones by engaging directly with customers to gain deep insights into their specific needs.
  • Develop complex pricing models incorporating multiple variable inputs and outputs to fully assess the business impact of changes to the market data portfolio.
  • Lead the review and drafting of commercial contracts, policies, and legal filings in coordination with the legal team.

Product Implementation

  • Own and lead high-value market data projects for Cboe Data Vantage, ensuring the launch of commercially successful products by directing internal stakeholders across the organization to deliver on time and on budget.
  • Drive all aspects of product implementation, including direct leadership of engineering, infrastructure, operations, support, sales, marketing, communications, finance, legal, and compliance workstreams.

Product, Sales & Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert on all market data product offerings, customer segment targets, use case pricing, and policy requirements related to receiving data from Cboe Exchanges.
  • Lead product and solution discussions with existing and prospective clients, educating them on the market data offering as it relates to their individual use cases, technical implementations, and requirements.
  • Drive the Sales Team's success by leading meetings, conference calls, and client engagements to support the sale of Cboe market data products.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads for the market data business.
  • Own the development of sales collateral, white papers, and other materials in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team to communicate the value of Cboe market data products.
  • Lead the Global Business Operations Team on customer onboarding, customer inquiries, and driving operational efficiencies related to market data.

Job Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Proven track record in business strategy, product strategy, product management, and project management at a senior level.
  • Extensive experience in financial services, specifically with a Financial Data Vendor, Financial Information Provider, Exchange Operator, or Broker-Dealer with a dedicated focus on market data.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and senior business management experience.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to implement complex, large-scale market data initiatives across multiple areas of an organization.
  • Domain expertise in financial services, market structure, trading systems, market data platforms, data distribution, indices, data policy, administration, and data compliance.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word (business cases, product requirements, regulatory filings); Excel (complex pricing models, financial projections, ROI analysis; Sigma and/or data visualization expertise a plus); PowerPoint (executive-level presentations for customers and senior management).
  • Self-starter with exceptional work ethic and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and independently manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously with full transparency.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and research skills (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Ability to evaluate, analyze, and synthesize complex information to provide executive-level insight and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting complex product and business requirements and leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Exceptional communicator with outstanding verbal, written, and executive-presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborative leader with the ability to work alongside colleagues on different teams and across global regions.

Minimum Years of Work Experience: 15

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $256,700-$317,100 per year. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay target for new hires working in the position full time.


 

Within the range, individual pay is determined by actual work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
