Our client, a rapidly growing, AI-enabled diagnostic imaging company, is seeking a Vice President, Legal to play a key leadership role within its legal function. The company is building a new model for diagnostic imaging that combines exceptional physicians, proprietary technology, artificial intelligence, and comprehensive operational support to deliver high-quality diagnostic care at scale.

This is a highly visible, hands-on position that will partner closely with senior leadership and teams throughout the organization. The Vice President, Legal will report to the CEO/Co-Founder and have broad responsibility across healthcare regulatory and commercial matters, while also serving as a generalist on a range of additional legal issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with hospitals, health systems, physician groups, imaging centers, vendors, technology partners, and other strategic counterparties.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements involving professional and diagnostic imaging services, technology and software, data use, business associate relationships, strategic partnerships, procurement, and other commercial matters.
  • Advise the business on a broad range of healthcare regulatory matters, including Anti-Kickback, Stark Law, HIPAA, FDA-related issues, physician arrangements, and other state and federal requirements relevant to the company’s operations.
  • Partner with clinical, product, technology, and business teams to assess regulatory issues associated with new services, products, partnerships, and the company’s use of artificial intelligence and other healthcare technology.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice that helps the company achieve its objectives while appropriately managing regulatory, contractual, and operational risk.
  • Serve as a broad legal resource to the organization on other matters as needed, including employment, corporate, governance, compliance, and general business issues.
  • Develop scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks and manage outside counsel strategically where specialized expertise is required.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 12+ years of relevant legal experience, with meaningful experience in healthcare, digital health, medical technology, healthcare technology, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong healthcare regulatory experience, including familiarity with Anti-Kickback, Stark Law, HIPAA, FDA-related issues, or other legal requirements applicable to healthcare providers and healthcare services.
  • Significant commercial contracting experience and the ability to independently structure, draft, and negotiate sophisticated business agreements.
  • Experience working with hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, healthcare providers, or healthcare technology companies is highly desirable.
  • Experience advising on AI, medical technology, digital health, or other regulated technology is a plus, but not required.
  • Broad legal judgment and comfort handling or overseeing a variety of general corporate, employment, compliance, and other business matters.
  • Strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide clear, practical advice in a fast-moving environment.

The ideal candidate is a sophisticated, business-minded healthcare lawyer who is equally comfortable navigating regulatory questions and helping the business get important commercial deals done. This person will be pragmatic, collaborative, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating as a broad-based legal advisor rather than a narrow subject-matter specialist.

Our client is targeting a base salary range of around $340,000–$350,000 depending on experience. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus and a meaningful stock grant as part of the overall compensation package.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly scaling healthcare technology company that is rethinking how diagnostic imaging is delivered. The Vice President, Legal will have the opportunity to work on a compelling mix of healthcare regulatory, commercial, technology, and general business matters while partnering closely with senior leadership and helping shape the company’s continued growth.
