About this role

The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities. 


We are comprised of teams of professionals with expertise spanning many functions working together to meet the unique needs of our clients including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management.  Professionals within AIB work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services supporting our clients’ investment objectives. 


AIB is seeking a Vice President relationship manager to join our Multiemployer coverage, including developing and executing on strategic relationships with Multiemployer (Taft Hartley, Union Industry) clients across the entire suite of BlackRock’s investment capabilities, general branding, and relevant consultant engagement. 


Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieve annual sales goals by aligning client opportunities with BlackRock’s capabilities

  • Develop and maintain deep partnerships with Multiemployer clients, trustees, and trusted advisors

  • Represent the needs of the Multiemployer segment internally, including areas related to solutions orientated product development and thought leadership

  • Partner with Global Consultant Relations on triangulation with relevant field consultants and on research priorities 

  • Strong focus on external awareness of the commitment BlackRock has made to the segment

  • Support the team and internal partners on projects and initiatives aimed at data collaboration and product development 


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of institutional investment marketplace and Multiemployer segment specifically

  • 7+ years of experience working with Multi-employer/Taft-Hartley plans and other relative institutional clients

  • Knowledge and proven ability to work with investment consultants from research to senior level 

  • Sales and revenue goal motivated 

  • BA/BS degree in related field MBA/CFA/CAIA highly desirable

  • Has, or is willing to obtain, the series 7, 63, and 3 licenses 

  • Effective team player; Ability to work with leaders and partners broadly

  • Independent thinker and highly self-motivated

  • Strong integrity & ethical standards 

For Chicago, IL Only the salary range for this position is USD$135,000.00 - USD$185,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
