Funkit designs short-term rentals across the US.

We're hiring a full-time Video Editor for two brands in the real estate and short-term rental space: Robuilt and Funkit Interiors. Funkit Interiors is a short-term rental design company - that content sits at the intersection of interior design, transformations, and before-and-after storytelling. The role is primarily long-form YouTube for both channels: construction projects, Airbnb experiments, property transformations, design reveals, educational breakdowns. This is not a job where we hand you footage and ask you to cut out the pauses - you take raw footage, interviews, property walkthroughs, screen recordings and graphics and turn it into a story people actually finish. Some videos need fast pacing and comedy, others need to make a property feel cinematic; the best editor for this knows when to go big and when to get out of the way and let the story breathe. We're also not looking for an order-taker - if a joke doesn't land or a section drags, we want to hear it. One thing before you apply - watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipi4SYsntx8 - that's the level we're working at. If it's a cut you could pull off, send work.

Responsibilities:

- Edit raw footage, interviews, property walkthroughs, screen recordings and graphics into finished long-form YouTube videos for two channels (Robuilt and Funkit Interiors)

- Balance fast, comedic pacing with cinematic storytelling depending on what the video needs

- Push back creatively - flag jokes that don't land or sections that drag rather than just executing

Requirements:

- 2-5 years of professional editing experience in YouTube, digital media, branded content, documentary or entertainment

- Premiere Pro inside out, plus advanced custom motion graphics in After Effects - text, maps, numbers, diagrams, callouts, financial breakdowns

- Real understanding of retention: why viewers click away and how editing keeps them

- Intentional sound design and comedic timing, where moving a cut eight frames decides whether a joke lands

- A strong eye for typography and composition, which matters most on the Funkit side

Nice to have: Real estate or construction content, short-term rentals, large creator-led channels, colour grading, 3D, or building graphics from scratch rather than templates.

Benefits:

- Base of $1,500-3,000 USD/month depending on experience

- Fully remote, full-time role
