Excellent opportunity for an up and coming lawyer to join a dynamic organization. You will be part of an established professional team of legal counsels providing legal advice to the Bank and its group of companies (Group).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advisory support on data privacy matters, monitoring compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act
  • Providing legal support in various areas, including data privacy, wholesale /retail banking transactions, operational matters and regulatory compliance. Specific coverage of segments and products will be allocated from time to time.
  • Drafting, reviewing and hands-on negotiation of diverse multi-jurisdictional commercial documents and agreements 
  • Drafting and implementing legal policies and guidelines
  • Engaging key stakeholders including business teams, product, operations, compliance, external legal counsel etc.
  • Developing legal solutions that address not only legal but also regulatory and reputational risk as well as compliance with the Group policies and guidelines.

Requirements

The successful candidate should possess:

  • At least 3 years of corporate legal experience gained from a combination of private practice and in-house roles, with experience in data privacy matters being an advantage
  • Prior experience in drafting, review and negotiation of legal agreements.
  • A degree in law from a recognized university
  • Self-motivated, confident, independent and prepared to work hard with a strong track record in managing a broad range of legal issues
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful and able to work under pressure to meet competing demands.
